TEDDY BEAR (Elvis Presley)

From an album such as Elvis #1—released in 2002

Introduction

This song is a classic love song sung by Elvis Presley.

Teddy Bear

Baby let me be,

Your lovin' Teddy Bear

Put a chain around my neck,

And lead me anywhere

Oh let me be

Your teddy bear.

I don't wanna be a tiger

Cause tigers play too rough

I don't wanna be a lion

'Cause lions ain't the kind

You love enough.

Just wanna be, your Teddy Bear

Put a chain around my neck

And lead me anywhere

Oh let me be

Your teddy bear.

Baby let me be, around you every night

Run your fingers through my hair,

And cuddle me real tight.

Extension

This song would fit in wonderfully with a unit on teddy bears. I know McNair Elentary's First Grade (Denton ISD) does this unit each Fall. Students bring their favorite teddy bears to school for a weeklong celebration. This song would be great for playing at the Teddy Bear Picnic—the concluding day of the celebration. (It is on that day that the students (of my sister's class) arrive to find their teddy bears have been up to mischief and are playing all over the room. Some read books, some play on the computer, etc.)
