Job Objective

To obtain a part time job working with children.  

Education

Graduated from St. Mary's Ryken High School, Leonardtown, MD. June, 1999  
Attend the University of North Carolina at Pembroke,  Pembroke, NC. August 1999- May 2000  
  • Current Major:  Elementary Education (Chancellor’s Scholar)  
  • I maintained a 3.76 G.P.A. while playing collegiate volleyball.  

Experience

Counselor at Camp Tomahawk, summer day camp, Indian Head, MD, June 1997- August 1999 
  • Encouraged children ages 5-12 to have an enjoyable summer.  
  • Taught classes during the morning hours. Some classes include: crafts, mechanics, mind teasers, creative games, outdoor cookery, and outdoor games.  
  • Organized afternoon activities for the children.  Some days we went swimming or we created skits or plays.  
  • Took the children on many field trips over the summer months.  These include: the Air and Space Museum, an amusement park, local parks, as well as farms and other interesting sites.  
  • Ensured the facility and other program sites were prepared with equipment and supplies for the scheduled events.  
  • Took necessary custodial care of all children.  
  • Assisted children at meal and snack times as necessary.  
  • Planned activities that met the developmental and emotional needs of the children.  
  • Supervised children during field trips and during pool activities.  
  • Assisted children in various tasks which included first aid and care for children with special needs.  
Instructor at a Softball Camp, Indian Head, MD, Summer of 1999  
  • Taught children ages 6-12 the basic rules and techniques of the game of softball.  
  • Taught the specifics of catching, throwing, hitting, and base running.  
  • Emphasized sportsman- like conduct.  
  • Urged the children to do their best.
