I bought my first f-body when I was 19, it was a gunmetal blue '93 Camaro with the 3.4L V6. I desperately wanted a V8, but that wasn't an option due to high insurance costs. Unfortunately after 3 short months of owning it, it was totaled after I was sideswiped by an old lady in a Buick.
Six months later I was able to get a good deal on this black '95 Z28. I loved this car (when it ran) but after replacing the fuel pump, window motor, and optispark in the first 3 months of owning it I decided to get rid of it. I was having enough trouble making the payments as it was, and besides that I quickly grew tired of the boring auto tranny. I was also dying to modify it, but that was out of the question since all my money was going into repairs instead. About 3 months later I sold it and decided to look for a more affordable 3rd gen.
After a month long search, I found this mint '87 IROC-Z w/ 64k miles for only $3995. It was completely stock when I bought it with the LB9 305 TPI and a 5-spd, but that soon changed. By the time I sold it 2 years later, I had wrapped up over $15k in mods and just about everything but the tranny had been replaced. You can see my old webpage for my IROC by clicking on the picture below.
After I sold my IROC in Nov. '00, I for some reason got the idea that I wanted a truck and bought a '00 Tacoma. That was fun..... for about a week. Two months later I traded it in on my '99 T/A.
There was one other f-body that I've previously owned, although I never got the chance to drive it due to the fact that the engine and tranny were already pulled when I bought it. During the 2 years that I had my IROC, a friend of mine totaled his '86 T/A. I bought that off of him, swapped the interior into my car, and parted out the rest.
