The Liberian Youths Against HIV/AIDS (LYAHIVAIDS) is an AIDS awareness groups comprising mostly of youths who give in their time to spread information about HIV/AIDS. Members of this organization are students, young health parishioners, lawyers marketers etc. who devote their time by operating seminars, workshops, school to school programs, community awareness, counseling etc. The Liberian Youths Against HIV/AIDS was founded in July 2001 by some youths who believed that it was wise to educate their fellow youths on the danger of the HIV\AIDS, which is rapidly increasing in our country. The founding members decided to target the ages of those between 12 - 24 and also included children who are the most active in our society. The educational aspect has been a success as the youths freely discuss relevant topics among each other such as HIV|AIDS, sexual relationship (which is the primary method of transmission here in Liberia), teen-age pregnancy and other relevant issues for the well being of the youths.
