Dear Mr. Rowe,
Thank you for your letter which I received recently concerning your continued interest in The Researcher. My husband (Real) and I visited your website with interest. You are undertaking a task in an area with which we have very little experience or expertise. It is a wonderful outreach and I am glad that someone has actually started. Another gentleman talked about it, but he didn't pursue the idea.
The same day that I picked up your letter, we received an E-mail from another man who wants to put some of my dad's messages (from audio cassettes) on a sermonaudio site… The first issue of The Researcher, Volume 1 Number 1, was printed in the Spring of 1971…Enclosed is a copy of the photo of my dad that you used from the Berean Ambassador. I think that it would be suitable for the site.
The Bible Lovers' Fellowship is still a charitable organization, but it serves a very different purpose from when my dad was here. He was on radio stations around the world and on TV in Ontario. It was necessary to cancel these programs because there was nobody to prepare the messages. There was one interesting aspect that we had never expected. Cassette tapes that my dad sent to Radio Africa were never returned to him. All other stations returned them and they were re-cycled or sent on to Radio Africa. Since 1994 these cassettes are still being aired on some radio stations in Africa. The result has been that we are still receiving mail with requests for Bibles and other Gospel literature at Box 232.
This small aspect of Bible Lovers' Fellowship has continued and we have sent out over 1500 parcels to Africa since my dad died. Many are from young people requesting Bibles, but a great number are from pastors, evangelists and Sunday School teachers etc who ask for a wide variety of material. The Lord has provided sufficient funds that we have been able to mail items as time and money allow. So many letters have come that I am over a year behind in this task.
As well, my dad supported a pastor in India who was greatly blessed by the ministry of The Researcher. We have been able to continue this in a small way. We are thankful since my dad was his only means of financial support. These are tasks that occupy much of our time, energy and funds, but the Lord provides. My husband and I are retired school teachers and we are kept very busy with our responsibilities at the church, answering mail, and taking in the hay etc. on our little farm.
