Several years ago (sometime in the '80s) I made a fateful trip to my mailbox. Among the various bills and junk mail I found a curious looking booklet that closely resembled a "quarterly" (To those of you who don't know what a "quarterly" is, it is a periodical that is published once every three months. It comes out four times a year, hence the name "quarterly". An example is a Sunday school "quarterly".) I didn't recognize the title but the cover aroused my curiosity. The title, The Researcher, sounded like a periodical from a university. The two tone cover was plain enough but the "slogan" or "motto" at the bottom of the page soon caught my attention --- A Quarterly Designed To Promote The Study Of Prophetic Scriptures

I read that first copy and was very edified by what I read! It inspired me to study the Bible in a way that I had never done before.

I later found out that my good friend, Jim Richardson, had given me a "gift" subscription. I'll be in his debt for that gift and for the past issues that he has loaned me to scan for this re-publication of The Researcher.

It has been out of print since the death of its editor,Rev. J.R. Boyd, in 1994. I was very sad at his passing and even more so the passing of this his ministry to our dear Lord and Saviour. To my chagrin nobody else attempted to carry on with this great work. It has been over ten years since the last edition. Since there has been no volunteers to continue in Rev. Boyd's foot steps, I am inspired to "carry" on this ministry in the only way that I can (and I can never wear his shoes) --- making it available to the world. I hope that it inspires you as it did me (Please read the About (purpose) and Dedication.)
