The purpose of The Researcher
web site is the same as the original publication by The Bible Lover's
Fellowship. That is to promote the study of prophetic scriptures. I
would like to make this disclaimer for The Fellowship: This site is the
sole responsibility of its "editor" (that means me) and we neither
agree or disagree with his methods or posts. Furthermore, we are not
responsible for his errors, mechanical or otherwise. Here is my
disclaimer: I am not responsible for the content of the original
publication! I have scanned (digitized) the quarterly and checked for my
errors. Some of the spelling is archaic; some of the spelling is native to
which country the author hails. In part of the Fall 2003 edition, however, I
decided to change some of the spelling.
I found some of the words hard to figure out even in context, so I am
going to begin doing my job and “edit” some of the spelling in future editions. I
still will not "Americanize" grammar or spelling for the simple
reason that I have tried to keep the presentation as close to the original as
possible. I am no web "master" by any means. Instead, I refer to
myself as "the web editor". I am learning how to do web pages
but some of the skills needed for my purposes are lacking at the time of this
writing. That you will surely notice. It is said that confession is good for
the soul. I confess that I "cheat" by shamelessly using what ever
"web page made easy" software I can find. The scanned articles are
being transformed into web pages by Microsoft Word®. The
format of the Researcher page has been changed beginning with the
April Issue to 800x600 screen resolution after I did some research (no pun
intended) and discovered that most of you are viewing with that
resolution. This should make viewing
more enjoyable. I have placed update
information at the bottom of some pages to inform you when an update or
correction has occurred. It is in
European format (i.e., DD-MM-YYYY.)
Hey, I already told you I “borrow” other people’s code (legally, of
course.) It would be good to refresh
your screen if you come often so that you will get the changes and hopefully
the improvements as they occur. Also, I try to place navigation hypertext to
make your visit as pleasant as possible without resorting to your browser's
back and forward keys. If I miss a link here and there, please use your
browser’s navigation buttons to find the last or next page. I don't always get things lined up
correctly---for now. I may later post other tracts or even some of your
research. As a matter of fact, I would
like to have feed back about how you feel about the articles that you are
reading. I may even post some of them
(I reserve the right to select those that I think are edifying with the same
guidelines used by Rev. Boyd.) I plan
to begin a monthly editorial and will post one when it is ready. That being said I will give you some
background about The Researcher.
I would like to thank Rev. Boyd's daughter,
Mrs. Iris Duhaime, for kindly sending me a portrait of her father. Thank you so much, Mrs. Duhaime! I have an
update of Rev. Boyd’s ministry. Mrs.
Duhaime has been so kind as to provide me some information. You will find it in an excerpt from one of
her letters on the Contents page under the link The Ministry goes on…. I now know that the first issue was printed
in the Spring of 1971. Although the Fellowship's denominational roots are
Berean Baptist from Ontario, Canada, the articles contained cross all
denominational and national boundaries. Many of the contributors are lay
people. Some are lay preachers. Some are ministers. Some articles are from
other publications. Some articles come from the past and now deceased authors.
Some names you will recognize. Most you will not. There is one thing they all
have or had in common --- a genuine hunger for the pure word of God and the
seeking of the same! You may not agree with everything you read. Some things
you will agree with, some things you will disagree with---even in the same
article! But if you approach the work with the proper spirit, one thing is
sure: you will most definitely research the Bible and study
prophecy! That was the prayer and hope of Rev. Boyd. That was
the reason he published The Researcher.
