Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted to work in movies....

Well, that came true.

LOW(Budget) LIFE is a piece for my next zine issue, which will go into exhaustive detail on the projects I've been on. The ones that you may have heard of are DRYLONGSO, HEARTWOOD, DAUGHTERS, OTHER AMERICAN FABLES, SUPERSTARLET A.D., among others. This beginning section pretty much provides an introduction.

If you'd like to see some news of some recent films I worked on, go
here. Otherwise, click on the below images for more information.

DVD in 2006? Possibly...
For about 2 years, I was the editor of the IFC Newsletter (that's  the Independent Filmmakers Coalition in Kansas City, MO). It was often a bitch to keep to deadline (a recurring problem when I self-publish, I'm finding), but I was very happy for the chance to expand on the writing skills.

Here's a couple of the better pieces:
I had a chance to see Robert Loomis' very funny movie DOG YEARS at SXSW '98 - and it was one of the first films screened as part of the Independent Filmmakers Showcase, which brings in  indie films and their makers into KC, MO for a screening.

Loomis' Q&A was one of the most informative & most entertaining of any of the Showcases...
Another film brought in was Tamara Hernandez's MEN CRY BULLETS, which had won top honors at SXSW '98, and which stars Jeri Ryan (who, at the time, had just become part of the STAR TREK Omniverse).

No image yet of Tamara, but you can read that interview
here, for the time being.
