| On a personal note I would like to recognize the hard work of one of our officers on a recent project, Walk to Cure Diabetes. Her name is Jean Kruse and she is our Vice-President of Leadership, and she was our team captain for this event. Her husband has developed diabetes, and so this was a very personal issue for her, as it was for this writer. Jean worked hard to make Phi Theta Kappa and the Longview Community College more aware in regards to diabetes. Once I contacted the Lee's Summit Journal, Jean eagerly accepted the role of giving an excellent interview to raise the communities awareness of diabetes. Because of her enthusiasm and hard work, we had a excellent turn out, and had a great day out at the Kansas Speedway. Great job Jean!!! |
