| Walk to Cure Diabetes II: On September 6, 2003, Phi Theta Kappa will be sponsoring a team in the Walk to Cure Diabetes. The walk is 3 miles and will take place at the Kansas Speedway. Check-in time is 9:00 a.m. with the walk starting at 10:00 a.m. The walk will take place rain or shine. We will meet at the circle at Longview at 8:00 a.m. This is a fellowship activity, which will count towards your five-stars, and a way to provide support for our organization, as well as supporting the research to cure diabetes. This is also an excellent opportunity to come out and meet fellow members of PTK! Although each walker is asked to contribute $100 in donations, PTK will be selling shoes on campus which will contribute to our Teams donations. Our campaign will be open through October 15th. If you are interested in walking as part of our team, please email me at [email protected] or call me at 816-318-1851. You can also register on-line at www.jdrf.org. Please indicate you are walking as part of an organization, our team name is Phi Theta Kappa, and your team captain is Jean Kruse. Feel free to include your family, friends and/or coworkers in this walk. The more, the merrier! Written by: Jean Kruse Ha Ha Tonka: Well, a wonderful opportunity went nearly wasted, with the low turn out. The only people there, were myself and five neighborhood kids that I took. They don't normally get to go to places like that, and they not only helped me clean the road; but also, had a terrific time at he picnic that we had. After the picnic we all had a tremendous time adventuring the park. Each and every kid thanked me for including them in so much fun.
