September Meeting Minutes:

1. Ed recapped the August minutes.
2. A picture was taken by a photographer for the Current for an up coming ad in their 
    paper, which had been set up by Ed.
3. Krista Young (from Jefferson College) was our guest speaker at the meeting. �An
    Introduction to a Few Branches of the Yoga Tree� was the topic.
4. Russ was at the officer�s meeting for a short while, wrote a check to Ed for repayment
    of gifts, and gift cards, a check given to Jean for the first scholarship fund, and
    reported one given to Kelly for payment of the stars that she purchased from the Girl
   Scouts.
5. Satellite seminar choice was discussed in the officers meeting, and in the general the
    vote was taken on accepting #4.
6. Lois sent out notices to officers, members, advisors, regional, and international about
    the change in the Kappa Tau Newsletter webpage.
7. Kim agreed to check with McDonalds in Raytown to see about checking out dates in
    the spring for the car wash fundraiser.
8. Ed & Jean are working on the revamping of the induction letters.
9. Ed suggested that when the induction letters are done, and we are calling the inductee�s
    to use our own words instead of a script written by him. That way it sounds more
    natural. To tell the new potential members about the new Kappa Tau Leaders of
   Scholarship that is being offered now.
10. It was announced that our advisor Russ Keevy will be leaving at the end of the
      semester.
11. Adopt-a-Road discussed and approved for October 5th, directly after the general
     meeting. Ed will bring the vests and bags, we should bring extra�s just in case and
    gloves.
12. Ed discussed our roles at the induction as officers.
13. Jean agreed to take care of the rose and cake for the ceremony.
14. Margaret gave the treasurer report.
15. Jean reported that so far around $452 has been raised for Walk to Cure Diabetes, and
      all funds will be collected by October 13th, and will be given to JDRF on October 16th
16. It was reported by Ed & Jean that the scholarship project is 95% completed. Financial
      Aide deadline is being examined for extending if possible to October 17th.
17. Jim McGraw will be our guest speaker for our October 5th meeting.
18. Kim brought up the Habitat for Humanity project and all officers agreed that she
      will look into booking us for the spring, and will discuss further at the next meeting.
      January 24th, 2004 is a possible date for the Habitat restore project, date to be
      confirmed. Also discussed the KCPT phone bank project, and she will check out the
      dates around the 1st of October.
19. Kelly reported ordering the items needed for induction, and the cost involved.
20. Margaret & officers agreed that a form needs to be drawn up for the medallions so
      than any officer receiving one will not be able to pick up transcripts or grades from
     the college unless they agree to return the medallions at the end of their terms in
     office.
21. Lois agreed with Jean to sell shoes at the Club day on September 10th, asking for at
       least a $1 donation per shoe. Their names will be put on the shoes, and hung up at the
       campus.
22.  Sign-up sheets were passed for volunteers for Club day.
23. Kelly is still waiting and working on the induction list of names.
24. Krista Young asked for a invitation to be sent to her regarding Habitat for Humanity.
25. Jason from Student Government attended and everyone agreed to his proposal of
       helping them promote the Blood drives in the fall and spring. The first Blood Drive
       will be September 24th from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.  It was also agreed that Kappa Tau would
      put in their share of the t-shirt money for our names to be seen along with Student
      Government on the Blood Drive Days! Jason also announced that the first Student
      Government meeting will be September 16th, at 1 p.m. in Room 105 (?). Jason also  
      told   us that fundraising is allowed at Club day so we need to check out selling of
      T-shirts as well as the shoes.
26. Meeting was closed so that Krista Young could speak and do her demonstration.
