Meeting Minutes p.2
The members in attendance at the meeting were asked about some ideas that might appeal to members and new members as well. One idea that was brought up was a possible technical advance workshop or discussion with a speaker in a show & tell  or a video? Will think more on that and discuss at a later date.
A sign up sheet was started by Margaret for the Help Stations, and passed around to all attending the meeting.
Ed discussed with Lois the possibility of a web page where the newsletters, and other materials could be posted so that those who have small e-mail boxes wont have to worry about over taxing their mail systems with large newsletters. Lois agreed to look into the matter and get back with the officers, with what she found.
A motion was put forth for voting on regarding the use of  some of the food that the club bought for the picnic, to be used at the Ha Ha Tonka trip. The motion was seconded, and the vote taken. It was passed.

Medallions were discussed with the members in regards using club funds in purchasing them, and  how it was to be passed onto new officers in the future, the cost would use $200 operating expenses from college funds, the motion was brought forward, seconded, and the vote was put on the table. The motion was passed.
Members were asked by Lois if they thought a general meeting during the week from  hours ranging from possibly 2 pm- 4 pm, to see if this would bring more interest into Phi Theta Kappa showing potential members what is going on with the club, and to allow members who are busy on the weekends the opportunity to attend a meeting, which is during the week as they are already on the campus. The members attending thought this was a good possible idea, and we will discuss this more in the future. The idea was to have one officer in attendance during the monthly general meeting held during the week, and all officers attending the Sunday  officers and general meeting as usual, and any other members who wishes to attend at the usual time.
Cassandra was asked about the fundraising ideas, and more information was needed regarding the ball parks, car wash (during week of  September?), Worlds of Fun clean up and she said she would find out more information for us to discuss in the future.
John Meeks suggested that as a officer of the Longview Community Computer Club, that he might be able to get the club to donate a rebuilt computer for the donation drive for the scholarship fund. Many expressed interest in this idea, and he will find out more information and get back with us on this subject.
Would contacting the Autobahn Society be something that would interest the members for a  bird watching group for the school meeting or possibly the Honors Conference?   Will discuss further.

The Walk for the Cure discussed, and it was to be a service and fellowship project.
Lois discussed with the members and officers the Hugs for Kids project, and set up the flyers for those interested in handing them out to their churches and fabric stores.
The discussion on keeping the price of the excess T-shirts at $5.00 a piece was brought up by Cassandra.
Diane brought up the recent conference that we attended, letting the members know that for the most part all went well. But that with committing to a conference when you are representing Phi Theta Kappa you must abide by the rules of conduct set up by not only the club, but the place where the event is to be held. There was a problem this  year about conduct at the last event, and she asked all to simply remember to that we are to behave accordingly as responsible adults.
Margaret passed out HyVee coupon books to those attending members as door prizes.
Motion was put forward to end the meeting, was seconded, and the vote passed. Meeting was then adjourned.
