| Carnation Fundraiser: This event will allow us to replish the coffers for future events and for our scholarship fund. We will be doing a pre-sale of the flowers, so check with Amy Stewart at the meeting for flyers to hang on the bullentin boards, and for your own personal use . Be sure to ask instructors for permission to speak before the class starts or right before you all leave the class. We are looking for volunteers to help with the hanging of the flyers if you haven't already signed up for this please contact Amy Stewart for this event. The pre-sale will occur from February 2-6th, 2004. Then we will have our regular Carnation flower sale for those to pick up their flowers, and those who haven't bought yet on February 12-13th, 2004. We need help at the tables taking the orders, helping to wrap, and fill out the cards, each day from 10 a.m-1 p.m. Butter Braid Sale: This is our second time to use Butter Braid's in the fundraising department and we are really excited about the opportunity to have this product to sell. We are looking for volunteers to help sell this really great product for the upcoming Easter holiday. As a volunteer this will be seen as a fundraiser, and for further information you can contact Kelly Lane VP of Correspondence to see if covers another area at 816-537-8356. Jean Kruse our VP of Leadership at 816-318-1851 or Amy Stewart our VP of Fundraising are heading the committee for more information. Here is the information about the product: They sell for $9.00 each, and our share of the sale is $4.25, which will be going for the most part for the funding of our own chapters scholarships!! Payments are collected at the time of the order, the payment method is cash or checks made payable to Phi Theta Kappa, there are order forms that are clear and easy to read, they are delivered frozen to us, and we deliver them to our customer frozen so that they have the choice of when to serve the Butter Braids for the holidays. We will keep to the suggestion by the dealer to use this event for no more than 3 weeks in our campaign. On each sheet there will be the name of the the individual flavors which are: plain/original, cherry, apple, peach, cinnamon, cream cheese, caramel roll, and blueberry. These Butter Braids are just sooooooooooo....good!!!!! We will be looking for the volunteers, and we have lots of forms to use to begin the sales. We are looking at dates in February, as we set a delivery date for the dealer. The dates for the drive will be March, 2004 so that Amy Stewart can call in our our order for Easter. We will be handing out the order flyers at the early March general meeting that will be held on February 29, 2004 after the Spring Induction. We will use the month of March, and at the meeting decide when to turn in our order. On the day of distribution for our customers, we will need volunteers to do 3 main things: Preparation: (1) Alphabetize the order forms (2) Put product on tables in the same order as the sales fliers (3) Have volunteers identify themselves as a "Reader," "Picker," or "Checker." Reader: A person who escorts the sales person through the assembly line and tells the "Picker" what product to get for the sales person. Picker: A person who takes the product from the assembly line tables & gives it to the sales person. Checker: A person who verifies the total number of units that the sales person has been given. Distribution: (1) H ave reader pickup an order form (2) Have 1 "reader" & "picker" take the order form through the assembly line (3) Checker verifies the total number of units given to the sales person and clothes the boxes and (4) "Reader" and "Picker" return to the beginning of the assembly line to fill the next order form. As you can see with the right number of volunteers to help out it will go rather quickly and easily. |
