| Purpose: The AP English class will engage in thoughtful discussion on topics related to the novels and our lives so that we can see the relevance and connection between the two. Etiquette: --Be considerate and constructive when responding to other discussion group members. --Be original - responses that only rehash the material someone else has already stated will not count; you need to add to the discussion with new evidence and/or a new point of view. If you can't add anything new to a topic, then try a different topic. Substance: Your responses must address the topic in a thoughtful manner by explaining your view and backing it up with textual evidence/examples. Use page numbers when citing examples. Length: Responses to the original topics must be at least 150 words in length, and responses to the other students' responses must be at least 100 words in length. Frequency: Each student must respond at least two times, either with a response to someone else's topic or by generating your own original topic. |
