All of the following should be done on your own paper.
2. Define Subordinate Clause and Independent Clause
4. Write down the list of Subordinating Conjuctions- the words that when they come at the beginning of a clause cause it to be dependent and subordinate.
5. Write down the rules for commas after introductory clauses.
7. Write ten sentences with one independent clause and one subordinate clause each. Use ten different subordinating conjunctions. Half of the sentences should have the subordinate clause at the end and the other half should have it at the beginning.
3. Write five sentences that have only one independent clause each.
6. Write down "A subordinate clause following an independent clause does not need a comma to separate it from the independent clause because the subordinating conjunction performs that purpose. Examples: I run because I want to stay healthy. Jon ate the sandwich until he felt full."
