SINCE 1980: I lead a contented life in the Alexandria, Va., area, where I live and work. Married 11 years, Eric and I have an adorable and headstrong daughter, Kate, who loves our dogs, Mozart and Harley. After completing a BS degree at American University, I worked for a manufacturer, then made a career change into office administration. After seeing all of the nice treatment meeting planners in my association office received from the hospitality business, I said, "I can do that!" and made a successful move into event management by combining my talents for budget accountability and organizational skills. I now work as an event manager for an international association where I get to feed my travel hobby a few times a year. I completed the Event Management program at George Washington University last year and proudly take credit for the association*s well-run conferences and meetings. I received Redskins season tickets just last year, after a 16-year wait. One of my fondest experiences from recent years is my trip to Wyoming and Yellowstone, which is the most magical place on Earth. Although my heart is heavy from missing the 20-year reunion, the reason is good: I*m in Arizona making my annual pilgrimage to the American Southwest. Besides travel, my hobbies include reading, needlecrafts and peek-a-boo with Kate.
