SINCE 1980: After graduating from Salisbury State University with a degree in Accounting, I began my career as a CPA. After approximately eight years in public accounting, I moved into the private sector.

During the 1980s and early 1990s, I traveled a lot with classmates Caroline Hrabak and Deena Dufresne. We took several Caribbean cruises and in 1989 we were part of a group that visited the former Soviet Union (Moscow and Leningrad). The summer of 1993, Caroline and I went on a cross-country trip. It was the adventure of a lifetime.

In August 1995, I married Todd Thornburgh. Two years after honeymooning in Hawaii, we packed up everything and moved to Kona, Hawaii (located on the island of Hawaii, AKA The Big Island). In June 1999, we started our family with the birth of our son, Brett Steven Thornburgh. After Brett*s birth, we made some lifestyle changes that have allowed me to be a "stay at home" mom, for the most part.

I currently have my own small, in-home business where I do accounting and tax work from home and I also work part-time for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service. Brett and I spent the summer of 2000 in Maryland visiting family and friends.
