My College Days

Near the end of my high school days the QCSHS Staff were assisting its graduating students in applying for the UPCAT. I made my own inquiries to UST for the College of Nursing, upon the suggestion of my aunt in California. I passed both exams but being a UP student (in a quota course, B.S. Biology at that!) was more appealing. So I studied in UP, and almost everyone in my block wanted to be a doctor. That dream was still quite vague for me then. It was like I was just going with the flow.

I was never the popular student, being average in this school where everyone's got brains (at least in my course). I was a member of one of the most popular societies in the College of Science, the UP Zoological Society , though I myself was not popular (and never dreamed of becoming one!)

First photo above was taken inside the UPZS tambayan. Second photo shows us in a party where we had to be dressed up according to the motiff
(in this particular celebration, the motiff was Pista ng Bayan.

Below, first photo is another UPZS activity, carolling, where members who volunteered to sing or play instruments gather up in the evenings during the Christmas season and
pre-arrangely go house-hopping to some of the members'. Second photo was taken inside a Biochemistry class while we were waiting for our teacher.

Here's my college grad pic. I did not march because I avoided expenses. Graduating with a BS Biology degree also had very little impact on my parents. It was nothing to them unless I took medicine.
