The Revolution

Vince was a born Leader. His family and friends say he had to be in charge so, no one was surprised when he founded the Future Business Leaders of America Club at LaSalle; or by his leadership in the Future Investors Club; or when he coached the girls basketball team at Carver Middle School where Morgan was a member. Moreover, no one was the least bit surprised that he excelled at tennis, track, in the Church Choir, or in the Youth Revolution Movement.

Vince knew what he wanted and what it took to achieve his goals. He was never intimidated by a challenge; he could be counted on to stand-up for what he believed. His mother said when it came time to go to College, Vince took care of everything; she merely signed on the dotted line. Vince wanted to be a lawyera great lawyer. He was an excellent writer and spokesmen. Some have said he had to have the last Word.

He was so strong-willed and out-spoken during those volatile teen years that Vince needed a Man in his life. A long time family-friend, Attorney Robert Beatty began to mentor Vince. He took Vince to school everyday, attended his sports activities and involved him in many cultural activities. He became a Surrogate father to Vince and showed him the love of a Father. Vince tried him to see if the love was real. Attorney Beatty passed the test and became a father to Vince in every important respect. Mr. Beattys son Matthew became the brother he never had. Vince knew God and he knew that the hand of God was on his life. He was raised in the house of God and loved God intimately. By the age of 17, Vincent P. McGhee touched the lives of many people. He inspired all those around him to achieve excellence. His depth of wisdom and compassion reached far beyond his tender 17 years. Vincent P. McGhee II gave much to this world in 17 years and this world will surely miss him.
