"Lute and bow"
Wood, nylon strings, fishing line, chopsticks, skewers, acrylic paint, and sticker label, France 2004

Another play instrument made for my daughters. During a visit to Ireland in the summer of 2004, my oldest daughter was impressed by Tara, a young violin player and one of the daughters of Padriac and Geraldine Howlwy, owners of the Carraigliath B&B (tel-353-65-708-8075) where we stayed in Kilfenora. After our visit, the only music she would want to hear was that of Tommy Peoples. She asked to have a violin so I made this lute to try to calm her wish of having one. The bow did not work but she was satisfied. The sticker label is from "Malachy Kearns", an instrument maker in Roundstone, Connemara, Ireland.
