A lot of people like this painting so I'll write a little something about it.
The paintings main elements are a blue/reddish background, straight white lines, an
outer yellow and inner red "x" or cross, and a figure on the lower half of the painting.
The blue field has an cosmic, atmospheric quality that gives the painting a mysterious,
spiritual, and meditative depth, similar to the night sky.
I tend to identify with the figure that stares out off the canvas... I stare into its eyes
and it stares back at me with the same intensity... "Who are you?", we ask
each other...At that moment (yellow outer and red inner crosses), our minds cross...bursts
of joyful energy are given off...but it's only for a fleeting moment...the moment passes
leaving behind just a trace (straight white line)...which then crosses other traces which
together create a pattern of "blue" crossings.
This painting is about me, you, the people we've met and will meet, the joy that our
crossings bring, and that lonely sad feeling that our partings leave behind.
