I had wanted to do this piece ever since I was a delivery driver at Foothill Building Materials in Pomona in the late eighties. I would see this house as I drove along Arrow Hwy, near the University of La Verne, and remember being fascinated by the cactii growing along the fence. Sometimes the Santa Fe and Southern Pacific trains would go by as well. I went to the area again for Christmas 2005. Luckily the place had not changed and I took advantage to finally draw it.
