* Background information on author, education, publications, edited book



Content

* What are the essential points that author is trying to make

* What questions(s) or issues the author is trying to present

* Is the argument logical

* Does the author employ a bias

* What hypothesis (If any) does the author consider

* How are the conclusions drawn. What conclusions are accepted or rejected

* Does the author employ appropriate sources, quotations and references

* Was the author's material and information effectively organized

* Could/should other aspects have been covered



Criticism

* Criticize the work favorably or unfavorably (or both) and support your statements

* Evaluate the work for potential readership

* Does the work meet its own requirements

* Does it meet a need

* What is it useful for



Format

* one to two pages long, typed (double spaced) and using APA style
