Organ of Smell: The Nose
The nose has two parts:
The Nasal Cavity
The External Nose

-nasal cartilage, nasal bones, frontal bone, sphenoid bone, and cribiform plate help support the arched roof of the cavity
-the floor of the cavity is refered to as the hard palate
-three curved bones protrude into the center of the cavity
-divided into left and right chambers
-95% of the nasal cavity functions in cleaning the air we breathe
-shape is formed by bone, hyaline cartilage, and dense fibrous connective tissue
-air enters the nose through the external nares or nostrils
