| A.C.E. PROGRAM Students in Grades 4 - 12 may participate in our after-school A.C.E. Program. For information please call Mr. Craig Kahn at ext. 251 or Ms. Juanita Scott at ext. 252. CLUBS The Elementary School is happy to offer the following after-school activities. Students may participate in the following clubs (grade level restrictions apply): Art Club, Gymnastics, Project Excel, Student Council, Wise Guy Club. Activity buses are available to students. Clubs will be dismissed at 4:15. Pick up procedures are the same as outlined in the Student Dismissal Section. DRESS CODE Shorts - may be worn From April 15th to October 31st. Shorts no highter than mid-thigh will be allowed. Tank Tops - are not allowed. Please check the weather before your child leaves for school and send them in appropriate outerwear for the day. Students will not be permitted to go outside without coats during cold weather. FUND RAISING Fund raising by students in school (e.g. Girl Scouts, Little League, etc.) is not permitted. LATCHKEY PROGRAM Our Latchkey Program is available from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Students must be pre-registered for the program before being admitted. Please see Latchkey Program on the school's Main Page for more information. LOST AND FOUND Lost and found article are kept in the school offices and/or cafeteria. Lost/Found articles are kept for thirty (30) days. MEDICATION (Prescription drug or prescribed over-the-counter medicine or nutritional supplements, including but not limited to aspirin and cough drops.) Board Policy states: 1. All medication MUST BE brought to school and/or picked up by an adult. 2. Before any medication may be administered to or by any student, the Board shall require the written request of the parent and the written order of the prescribing physician. STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO TRANSPORT MEDICATION TO OR FROM SCHOOL - NO EXCEPTIONS. P.T.A. We have a wonderful Parent-Teacher Association. The cost of PTA membership is $4.00. Please join as this is a very valuable and worthwhile group. They provide many activities/services to our students, parents, and school each year. Please check out their page for more information. VISITORS All visitors must report the office to obtain a visitor's pass upon entering the school. Visitors will not be permitted to visit classrooms during school hours (8:30-3:30) without prior permission from the teacher and/or office. VOLUNTEERS We are very happy to have many parent volunteers - parents, grandparents, other residents/family members. Typical volunteer activities include: a) preparing learning materials for students; b) reading to students in class; c) helping children at classroom computer stations; Volunteers can also help from their own homes - cutting, collating papers, etc. If you wish to help but cannot come in this may be an option for you. If you would like to become a volunteer, contact your child's teacher or the school principal. You will need to complete an application and attend an interview with the school principal. |
