Welcome to the La Quinta High School Music Department website! The Music Department here at LQ has had a very busy year. Marching Band season went amazingly well with a western themed show. The performers and audiences loved everything about it! The band was also bigger than it's ever been before, over 133 performers on the field! The Vocal Ensemble travelled to Palm Springs for a festival before the other goups had even begun to think of their festivals! The music department was also able to visit the state of Hawaii for a week over in November to commemorate the 65th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The music department had performances in Bishop's Square, the Waikiki Holiday Parade, and at the U.S.S. Missouri. It was an amazing week! The vocal ensemble, orchestras, and marching band were asked to perform at Disneyland in December, which was a very exciting day! All groups are currently getting ready for festival's which are right around the corner! Winter guard and Drum Line have also started! The Winter Guard is split into two performing groups this year (a Varsity and Junior Varsity line). The Drum Line is bigger than it's ever been too, with 31 members!
