It all started when Mike Shinoda (emcee/vocals) was in 7th grade and met Brad Delson (guitarist). Then in high school Mike and brad met Rob bourdon (drummer). When they were in high school they started Xero. Then when they all went to college, Mike went to Art center College of Design in Pasadena, California, there he met Joe Hahn (turntablist). Then Brad went to UCLA and his roommate was Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (bassist). The 5 made up Xero. After recording material in Mike's bedroom studio, they wanted a permanent vocalist instead of using friends so Mike put up a wanted ad. Thats when Chester Bennington (vocalist) came along. They started sending tapes to each other, California to Arizona visa versa. Finally the band was called Hybrid Theory because of their rock and rap combination. As Hybrid Theory worked on an independent label the album, Hybrid Theory EP came out. There are only 1000 original copies of HTEP but the LPU did do a reissue but there is a difference between the original and the reissue. Then Hybrid Theory had a trademark issue with a band called Hybrid. So then Linkin Park came along because Chester said he passed it everyday to band practice. In 1999 Warner Brother Records signed LP. Thats when they starting working on their first album, Hybrid Theory. Hybrid Theory came out in 2000. The album had hits singles, "One Step Closer", "Papercut" and my favorites, "Crawling" and "In The End". In 2001, LP was a part of Ozzfest along with other artist like Marylin Manson, Slipknot, Crazy Town, Papa Roach and Disturbed. Then LP made a summer tour called Projekt Revolution. Then in 2002, LP came out with another album, Reanimation. Reanimation is a remix album of Hybrid Theory. Some artists on the album include the X-Ectuioners, Stephan Richard, and Motion and Kutmasta Kurt. Then the next year, 2003, the album, Meteora came out. In that album there are hit singles like, "Somewhere I belong", "faint", and my favorites "Breaking the Habit" and "Numb". Later that year they went on the Summer Sanitarium with Limp Bizkit and Metallica. When they went to Dallas and Houston they filmed the tour and came out with the CD/DVD combo, Live In Texas. Then LP went on tour to promote Meteora called the Meteora World Tour in 2004. They toured with POD, Hoobastank, and Story of the Year. Again LP went on Project Revolution 2004. This time with Snoop Dogg, The Used, Korn, Less than Jake, No Warning, Ghostface, Funeral for a friend, MOP, and Downset. In July, MTV asked Jay-Z, if he wanted to do a mash up with someone and Jay picked LP! So in July JZ and LP did a mash up and performed at the Roxy for selected LPU Members. Then in October, MTV showed a part of the Roxy performance. On November 30, Collision Course came out which was a CD/DVD combo of the Roxy performance and the mash ups. It debuted #1 in the US! In December of 2004 a tsunami struck East Asia. LP started Music for Relief to raise money for the countries affected. LP donated $100,000. They care for others as much as we (fans) care for them. THANKS LP!! Then in February 2005, LP and other artist had a performance in California for MFR.
