Linkin Park
Hybrid Theory

Linkin park first started out as Hybrid Theory. The group is made up of: Chester Bennington, (vocals), Rob Bourdon (drums), Brad Delson (guitar), Joseph Hahn ( DJ/samples/turntables), and Mike Shinoda (vocals). They caught the attention of everyone as they started doing shows in the LA area. It started with a publishing offer, and ended up with a record contract at Warner Brothers. Their producer, Don Gilmore has done an amazing job with the group. He has also worked with artists such as Eve 6, Lit, and Pearl Jam. Their musical influences include the Deftones, NIN, Aphex Twin, and The Roots.

Their debut album, entitled Hybrid Theory, is a smack in the face for everyone. It spits out violent, hip hop lyrics that you never fail to relate to at one time or another. Although it still manages to keep a rock beat though. The drums and guitar mesh in with the lyrics perfectly. Not to mention how much the turntables brings it together.

Some people may think that rap-rock is dead, but this is a whole new sound. Everyone one of their songs sound different, but in a good way. Once you hear a track off the CD, you remember it. It stays in your head. If you heard it on the radio youd be like dOh, thats Linkin Park!E? you would instantly know who it was. You would never be wanting to know who was just on the radio. Theyve succeeded in creating a new, exciting, form of music.

"We try to push real things through in our lyrics; whether its feeling insignificant or questioning your own thoughts or discovering the dark side of yourself." stated Chester Bennington. That is true, so very true.

I highly recommend that everyone buy this CD. It is one of my favorites and frequents my CD player quite often.
