The Buzz: Not Content with wrestling their laurels after a triumphant year which saw their debut album 'Hybrid Theory' selling over 5 million copies world wide, Linkin Park are planning to follow the footsteps of Limp Bizkit and release a remix album this year. It's set to feature remixes of 'Hybrid Theory' tracks by such hip-hop and dance luminaries as The Alchemist, Dilated Peoples, DJ-Z and Handsome Boy Modelling School's Prince Paul, as well as Orgy frontman Jay gordon. Also set for release on January 21 is the band's first DVD, 'Frat Party In The Pancake Festival'. The band then plan to enter the studio in march and record their second album. "We aren't focusing too much on 'Lets see if we can get crazy and see what we can do different',"says frontman Chester Bennington. "It's just important for us to write good songs that we can enjoy and think other people can enjoy.
Arival Date: Spring for the remix album, late 2002/early 2003 for the studio album.

The Buzz:None other than Linkin Park Frontman Chester Bennington has recently been heared singing the praised of Irish rockers Cyclefly. "They're one of my favourite bands and their new record is one of the best i've heared in a long time," booms the LP man. "And if you don't like it, YOU SUCK!" Bennington himself guests on the album track 'Karma Killer'. "When we were making the album, he came over to record backing vocals," says 'Fly main-man Declan O'Shea. "His Gritty voice made things much better." The album features these tracks: 'No Stress', 'Karma Killer', 'Selophane Fixtures', 'Crave', 'Lost Opinion', 'Fool For A Day', 'Falling Wishes', 'Bulletproof', 'Tales From The Fishbowl', 'Weary'.

Rage and Rancid hit Hollywood!

Rage agaist the machine guitarist Tom Morallo made a rare public appearance at this year's KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas Show in Los Angeles on december 8. Morallo mingled backstage with members of Rancid, Linkin Park, Pennywise and Bad-Religion, at the all-star, two day event.

Among the bands performing at KROQ's Christmas bash were Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, System Of A Down, Staind, Bush, Alien Ant Farm, Puddle Of Mudd, Nickelback, and Blink182. Nu-Metallers POD stole the show on December 8 when they played at such a loud volume that they managed to blow a fuse in the PA System during 'Youth Of The Nation'. The band's fans continued to sing along regardless, keeping the song going while technical problems were ironed out.
