| LP WithYou: Video Treatment - My December (1) |
Color: Dull. It's near black and white but it's tinted brown and a little bit of green. No example comes to mind, unfortunately. Location: Hm. I don't know. Ever seen Collective Soul's "Run"? Ya. Like that. Or U2's "Elevation"? Just less high-tech. Haha.
.Music begins, fade in from black. (0-3 seconds)
.Picture gets clearer; it's snowing. Camera moves up the sidewalk to Chester.
.Cut to Chester's face at 10 seconds (this is where the guitar starts). Chester looks up to the sky. The camera moves up to the sky. At 13 seconds (where there's that dinosaur like sound- hehe)the camera shows the sky. It's got white clouds and a clear blue sky. It's a snowless sky. At 17 seconds (where there's horn sound) the camera points back down to Chester.
.20 seconds- "This is my December..." Chester sings as he walks down the empty sidewalk in not-too-slow motion.
.At 38 seconds (drum) Chester stops walking and looks into a shop through its glass window (you know, those big window-shopping windows). You see Joe inside messing around with his turntable. "This is my December," zoom into window for closeup of Joe. At 53 seconds(the horn) pull out (think Sugar Ray's "Someday). You see Chester's back on your right. The window he's looking into slowly gets darker inside until you can barely see Joe.
.At 59 seconds (Mike's "Just wish that I didn't feel,") Mike suddenly appears on the left handside of the screen, on the window, like as if he's standing on Chester's left. Mike is kind of transparent- very little- only about 40%. Mike is facing Chester, but Chester isn't aware of his presence.
.At 1:06, cut to Chester's face profile (his left side). He sings, "And I..." to the glass and at 1:09 Mike's face profile (his right side- cause he is facing Chester) suddenly appears. "Take back all the things that I said to" Mike disappears as he sings "you". Chester looks away as he sings "And I give it all away," as he walks away from the shop.
.At 1:20 as Chester reaches the curb, Brad is seen leaning on the wall playing his guitar. Chester takes a right turn (his right, our left) he walks away from Brad. At 1:28 the row of shops' windows start. All the stores are closed. Chester walks pass the dark windows while singing.
.At 1:56 Mike, again, suddenly appears in the windows. He is in step with Chester as the two of them walk pass the windows (this time Mike is seen like as if he is INSIDE the shops).
.At 2:15- "...all away..." the row of shops end. The buildings continue, but this time it's for residence-type. You know, those two storey buildings with the fire-escape all for the world to see? (Deborah Cox's "Who Do You Love") At 2:26- Chester looks up and the camera moves up the two storey building. At 2:34 you see Phoenix playing in bass guitar at the top of the building. At 2:47 the camera moves back down. At 2:53, Chester turns his head away and continues walking. At 3:00 he crosses a street and there is again, a row of shop houses with windows.
.At 3:10 Chesters stops to watch Rob play his drums. The camera zooms in at 3:12 and focuses on Rob and his drums. At 3:28 the camera pulls out. At 3:31 there is a bright flash of light. Chester is distracted and walks toward it.
.Chester walks on the road this time. At 3:52 he walks up to an accident site in front of him. A car has rammed it's head into a lamp post.
.At 4:00 the color slowly brightens, the snow gets less. Mike is seen walking up to Chester. They look at each other, both not saying anything.
.At 4:10 the color is back to normal, it is a beautiful day- no snow, and Mike smiles.
.At 4:15 the screen fades back to black and the music fades out.
