| LP WithYou: Video Treatment - My December (3) |
INTRO [piano part]
Camera scans over a busy street on a Christmas Eve, with the decors and lights on. Cam probes a little over the peoples merry-making, and zooms once in a while on the Santa decorations and the lanterns found along the way. Its drizzling and its a bit windy. Then, the cam makes its way on an apartment, isolated from the others and without any Christmas decor. Then, zoom on the inside.
STANZAS [Chester]
Inside the bedroom, full of cobwebs, dust and scattered papers [the rooms as if been trashed by him] He sits on a corner, with blankets wrapped around him [as if hes shivering]
This is my December
And with the slamming door sound, the screen shows dancing shadows and then it bangs the door close [the shadows are probably his familys who left him]
This is my time of the year
And the screens blurred and in the middle, some flickering lights.
This is my December And a flash of light passes through the windows as a train passes by outside. He stares down
This is all so clear
Chesters feet shown walking towards the open window..
This is my December
And the cam will show the scene outside: A train just passed by, overcastted skies, with rolls of thunder and crashes of lightning present.
This is my snow-covered home He looks down, the cam is at his side [Chester will be side-viewed]
This is my December This is me alone Upon saying And I, his face will slowly fade away.
PRE-CHORUS [Mike]
Mikes face will slowly appear in. The cams below him [worms perspective, or the cameras below his chin] His background is the shimmering Christmas lights. Hes outside the streets.
Just wish that I didnt feel like there was something I missed
He sighs and looks down, as if regretting something
Take back all the things I said to make you feel like that
And on the left part of the screen, although its not that clear, [shadowy figures] theres the re-enactment of Mike having a fight with his family, which ended up with him walking away, his mother sobbing, and his father and brother looking at him sternly. And Mikes going out of their house.
Just wish that I didnt feel like there was something I missedTake back all the things that I said to you.. and he walks away from the cam.[he continues singing while the re-enactments playing on the foreground, left-side of the screen.]
CHORUS
And I give it all away
Back on Chester, he takes his coat out of the closet.
Just to have somewhere to go to
He looks outside once more.
Give it all away
He wears the coat.
To have someone to come home to.
He walks out and closes the door.
THIRD STANZA [subway]
Empty train station, with the decors and lights still on.On the sidewalk [the raised platforms beside the trains parking], theres 2 paths, one leading to a curb to the exit, and the others going to the parked train. [opposite directions] Chesters walking on the former ; Mikes walking on the latter.
The former sings: This is my DecemberThese are my snow-covered dreams
Then, they are side by side [cams getting the side view] and they sings the line,
This is me pretending with Mike as the second voice.
Chesters looking down, while Mikes looking forward to his path. Chester looks back to Mikes direction while Mikes not paying attention when he sings, This is all I need
PRE-CHORUS: [Chester walking on the busy street]
It was a bit snowing, of course with the lights still
on. Chester sings only his parts. [And I]
Hes walking, and on his near left, almost beside his
shoulder, he sees Rob, carrying huge gift boxes and
being pulled by his nieces and nephews.
And I
Chester bumps him, and his cargo falls. Rob bents
down, picks it up, and looked at Chester
disapprovingly. But Chester continued walking as if nothing happened.
And I
And on the far right, just in front of a coffee shop,
he sees Joe, giving some children passer-bys presents,
and even plays with them. He high-fives a kid and
stops upon seeing Chester [cams far view of Joe] .
And I
He follows Chester with his gaze.
[Cams just beside Joe, following Chester as he walks.
Or Joes point of view over Chester]
Cams back on Chester, who looks so perplexed and
discouraged.
CHORUS [Mike inside the train]
Camera takes the top view of a scene inside the train,
with Mike at the center. The people in here are
happy, and almost all have their companions.
Mike looks uncomfortable because hes the only one in
there who had no companion and is sad.
Give it all away, Just to have somewhere to go to
He looks sideward at his left and sees Brad with his
family having a gay conversation.
Give it all away
He looks at his front and sees Phoenix with a little
girl slumped on his shoulder [the girl is probably his
girlfriendor something similar, and the girls
sleeping]. Cams zooming a little on the two.
To have someone to come home to
Cam back to Mike, he sighs softly and looks at the
window. [Lights flickering everywhere]
FOURTH STANZA [Chester at his bedroom]
Hes still sitting at the dark corner. He looks pale
and frightened [because his family might not come back
to celebrate the Christmas Eve with him]. He shivers
as he sings:
This is my DecemberThis is my time of the year
The cam focuses on a clock nearby 11:57 P.M
This is my December He looks at the door and
half-shouted:
This is all so clear
To his surprise, the door flew open and he was
shocked
CHORUS
[Mike]
Mike stepped down from the bus.
[Cams showing the view of his house that looked so
quiet]
Hes half-expecting that his family will not welcome
him anymore.
But the door opened and his mother came rushing to
him.
She was teary-eyed. She hugs him, and Mike does the
same.
[Cam focuses on the sky and the dropping snowflakes]
His brother and father follows soon enough and they
shakes each others hands. Mike was teary-eyed but
later, he begins to smile.
[Chester]
He hugs his wife an kisses his child [Its just a
baby]
Then he smiles and hugs his wife once more. Then, they
went out of the room.
OUTRO [Piano and violin(?)]
The camera [now colored] zoomed out of Chesters
house, and back to the busy streets that now has
turned silent and still, with the lights and
decorations still lit up.
