| LP WithYou: Video Treatment - My December (4) |
The colours are cold and Chester and Mike are not lipsinging, unless it says so in the text. None of the LP members are looking at the camera for the whole video.
The scene starts blurred, but then it's getting clearer and the camera is shooting the sky. It's dark blue with clouds and you can tell it's evening. The sky turns reddish little by little and the camera goes lower and you see the sunset above a big city. The city is covered with snow and it sparkles. The camera slowly goes back and back until you see the city through a window. The camera turns and you see Chester's face staring at the snow covered city. He starts lipsinging.
This is my December, this is my time of the year, this is my December, this is all so clear
(he stops lipsinging)
This is my December, this is my snow covered home
He turns and walks to the door, opens it and goes out.
This is my December, this is me alone
It starts snowing as Chester is walking on the street full with crowd, but he doesn't seem to notice anyone.
And I, just wish that I didn't feel like there was something I missed
Mike appears on the left side of Chester and starts walking with him, Chester doesn't notice him either.
And I, take back all the things I said to make you feel like that
And I, just wish that I didn't feel like there was something I missed
Mike looks to the right and the camera moves there and you see a little girl spinning around with her head up to the sky, eyes closed and hands lifted like wings and Joe standing in the shadow of the nearest tree and looking at her.
The camera turns back to Chester and Mike, who are still walking
And I, take back all the things I said to make you feel like that
Mike sees a young girl walking and runs off to her, camera continues moving in front of Chester
And I give it all away
Chester walks into an old house without a roof and it's all covered with snow
Just to have somewhere to go to
He walks upstairs, looking around
Give it all away
He sees a room and goes in
To have someone to come home to
He sees a couple holding each other in front of the fireplace, that has been without fire obviously for a very long time, and they are very still, like frozen. Brad is sitting near them, he doesn't look at Chester. You see a tear falling out of Chester's eye. He runs out of the door fast.
This is my December, these are my snow covered dreams
Chester is outside again, the crowd is pushing him around, but he still doesn't notice. he walks on.
This is me pretending, this is all I need
He catches a snowflake and camera zooms to his hand, you see the snowflake with a girl's face in it, she looks at the camera with a question written on her face
And I, just wish that I didn't feel like there was something I missed
Chester walks into a coffee place and sits on a table in front of Mike, Mike is looking at him, but Chester looks out of the window and doesn't notice Mike
And I, take back all the things I said to make you feel like that
Phoenix and Rob sit next to Chester and Mike, both playing their guitars
And I, just wish that I didn't feel like there was something I missed
Rob looks at the table on the other side and camera moves there, you see a man reading a newspaper, but it seems, he doesn't really realise what's he reading, he just stares at it
And I, take back all the things I said to make you feel like that
Chester gets up and leaves, camera still shoots Mike, who watches Chester going.
Scene fades for a second and then you see a park, it snows still and all trees are covered with snow
This is my December, this is my time of the year
Chester is sitting on a bench and this time he's lipsinging, Rob is sitting next to him and playing his guitar, you see Mike on the background walking
This is my December, this is all SO CLEAR - Chester looks slowly at the sky and when you hear the words so clear, camera moves very fast to the sky and then down again
Give it all away, just to have somewhere to go to
All of the LP members are walking down the street, crowd is pushing again
Give it all away, to have someone to come home to
You see a flash of the little girl running into her father's hands and he's lifting her up, Joe comes out of the shadow, smiles and walks off
Give it all away, just to have somewhere to go to
You see the couple in the old house moving and looking at each other, Brad leaves the room
Give it all away, to have someone to come home to
You see the man in the coffee place looking over his newspaper and seeing the girl that Mike ran to then sitting in front of him, scene fades
music
You see Chester walking alone on the street, there's no crowd, he stops and looks around and realises at last everything he has seen, he spins around, but there's nobody there, he feels cold and notices he doesn't have a coat and then feels something in his hand. He opens it and the camera zooms the snowflake. There's no face in it. Camera looks up at Chester, who blows the snowflake, looks awhile how it flies, smiles, turns around and walks back. Camera goes upper and upper following Chester till the scene fades...
