Department of Livestock Products Technology is constituent unit of Bombay Veterinary College under Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (Maharashtra, India).
Bombay Veterinary College, first veterinary college in Asia, was established in the year 1886. Main campus of the college is located at Parel, Mumbai (India) with sub-campus at Goregaon, Mumbai (India).
Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University is situated at Nagpur (Maharashtra, India), the third veterinary and animal sciences university in the country. It was established in the year 2000.
Department of Livestock Products Technology is situated in main campus of the college. As per the Veterinary Council of India curriculum, the department was carved out from the earlier Department of Food Hygiene and Public Health and started functioning in the year 2003.
