IMAC stands for International Miniature Aerobatic Club, and it is just that, a club
established in the U.S. to promote model aerobatics that closely emulate their full size bretheren. Just go to the web site (click on the WHAT'S IMAC button) and look over their site. The appeal for most people is that we are flying airplanes that look like the "real thing". There are also few size restrictions, so the planes tend to be larger (read as 'fly more scale-like') and have much greater spectator appeal (read MORE SPONSORS!).
With the growing interest in IMAC in Canada, the time has come to host an IMAC
competition in Northern Ontario--hence is born the NORTHERN ONTARIO IMAC CHALLENGE. Our purpose here is to encourage people in the north to try IMAC style flying, and perhaps improve the profile of RC to the general public. Look over the routines and give them a whirl! There will be lots coming up this year to help novices like ourselves become better builders, pilots and even judges in the wonderful world of RC aerobatics! |
