| Read the Rules Page first! Some Tools to assist you inpreparing for the draft.. Be sure too look at the following reports on the ATB homepage: Sim Batting - I simulated five seasons so you can get an idea of how the batters will perform in DMB. Sim Pitching - I simulated five seasons so you can get an idea of how the pitchers will perform in DMB. Sim Fielding - I simulated five seasons so you can get an idea of how the fielders will perform in DMB. Real life batting - Real life statistics for all batters Real life pitching - Real life statistics for all pitchers Real life fielding - Real life statistics for all fielders. Player Rating - this displays important ratings for how the players perform in specific areas such as: durability, bunting, power, in the clutch, fielding, and arm strength. Stadium Data - look at all the stadiums measurements for the LF Line, LF, LF Gap, CF, RF Gap, RF, RF Line. Also look at the offensive yield statistics. This shows you how the park performs relative to the league average in yielding singles, doubles, triples, and home runs to both right-handed batters and left-handed batters. Here is an example of the offensive yield: These numbers can range from 20 to 500, with an average park having a rating of 100. If the park allows only 58% as many homeruns as the average ballpark, the homerun rating for that park is 58. And if a park allowed 40% more triples than average, its triples rating is 140. Here's an example. If a team's road games included 140 homeruns and its home games included 100 (both for and against), you can conclude that the home park allows only 100 / 140 = 71% as many homers as the average of the other parks in the league. So you would assign a homerun factor of 71 for this park. |

| Once the League Begins.... | ||||||||
| Once the league begins you will need to complete your team roster form. This form will be emailed to you with some information pre-populated. It is what I will use to input your lineups, pitching rotations, depth charts, and managerial tendencies. Here is a desciption of each: Team Rosters (batters) - this will be populated by me. It will be a listing of all of your batters that were drafted for you. Use this to help create your lineup. Team Rosters (pitchers) - this will be populated by me. It will be a listing of all of you pitchers that were drafted for you. Use this to help create your rotation. Lineups - You can create up to two lineups in DMB. (It is actually six if you we were managing day to day!) One for batters vs left-handed pitchers and one for batters vs right handed pitcher. Complete this section of the form, remember that we are having a DH in both the American League and National League. Also be sure to include the player's position on this section. Pitching Rotation - Complicated. Here you will be able to define your starting rotation, your starters usage rate (1), spot starters, mopup role, long relief, setup men, and closers. Only the starting rotation is required but it is highly recommended to fill out this section completely! Positional Depth Charts - I am kidding right? No, DMB lets you create depth charts for each position. This is how the computer will make substitutions when players get injured or are rested. This section is not required but is highly recommended once again. At least make it an effort to fill out the pinch hitting roles. Managerial Tendencies - This section will determine how you want the computer to manager for you. It includes Offense, Pitching, Pinch Hitting, and Defensive categories. Here is the Excel version of the form (recommended) Here is the HTML version. |
