TIBET: A JOURNEY TO EBC

Day 01 (18 Oct): Arrive in Chengdu (500m)
Arrive in Chengdu today, be picked up at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Then your free day at your disposal.
Accommodation: Holly's Hostel or similar class if late booking

Day 02 (19 Oct): Transfer to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport to take flight into Lhasa (3650m) [B]
Take the flight into Tibet. Local guide will meet you and transfer you to Lhasa. On the way, you can enjoy the heart-beating highland view along the Yarlong Tsangpo river (the longest river in Tibet). Stay at the hotel for adapting to the high attitude. It is helpful to take things easy for the first few days, and try to drink some water just and now (be noted the first day acclimation is extremely to ensure you a good health status for the following tour, so please make sure you have yourself lie in bed for all the rest time of the day right after check-in of hotel).

Day 03 (Oct 20): Sightseeing in Lhasa [B]
Today, you will visit the highest palace in the world-Potala Palace which is the Dalai Lama's winter palace. It locates on the red hill, a good viewing point in Lhasa. Free time at your disposal.

Day 04(Oct 21): Lhasa/Gyantse (3950m) [B]
Drive to Gyantse, the famous historical city in Tibet, along the Kyichu River. Visit Lalai Kora Glacier en route. On the Ganba La (4,796 m) have a fantastic view of the holy lake of Yamdrok Yumtso (4441 m), and go for a visit of the Samding Monastery nearby. Upon arrival in Gyantse, have a tour to Pelkor Monastery and Kumbum Stupa.

Day 05 (Oct 22): Gyantse/Shigatse (3836m) [B]
In the morning, stroll in the ancient city of Gyantse, and we take a hike up the Gyantse Dzong (Fort) which command great views of the entire town. Then we drive to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. Have a tour to Shalu Monastery en route. You could have a local Tibetan Family Visit on the way if you are interested in. Upon arrive in Shigatse, you could stroll in its free market.

Day 06 (Oct 23): Shigatse/Shegar (4300m) [B]
Morning visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, then drive to Shegar to arrive in the late afternoon. On the way, make an excursion to Sakya Monastery (4.280 m). Today you can appreciate the evening scenery of Mt. Everest.

Day 07 (Oct 24): Shegar/Everest Base Camp (5200m) [B]
Rise up in the early morning to drive to Rongphu Monastery. Then hike up or take local horse-cart transport (self-paid) to Everest BC.
Accommodation: Camping

Day 08 (Oct 25): EBC/Lhatse (4010m) [B]
In the early morning, watch the Sun rise in the Everest, good weather permitting, after enjoy the stunning view of Mt.Everest, drive back to Lhatse

Day 09 (Oct 26): Lhatse/Lhasa [B]
Back to Lhasa.

Day 10 (Oct 27): Free day (no guide, no car and no sightseeing arrrangement)
Day trip to Namtso Lake. Self arrange.

Day 11 (Oct 28): Transfer to Lhasa Railway Station to take the train T24/1 at 10:45 to Chengdu
Accommodation: On the train

Day 12 (Oct 29): On the train
Accommodation: On the train

Day 13 (Oct 30): Arrive at North Chengdu Railway Station at 08:25.
Pick you up at the train station, then transfer to visit Panda Propagation & Research Center - one of the worlds' most prestigious facilities on Panda breeding research. See the baby pandas and learn the in depth knowledge on the preservation and breeding of this animal, regarded as China's most precious national treasure. You might have the opportunity of holding lovely little Pandas for pictures, or even adopt one of your own!

Day 14: Chengdu/Kuala Lumpur [B]
Departure transfer to see off, take flight to back to Kuala Lumpur, tour service ends.

Flight: Chengdu to Lhasa - USD 232 X 3.3 = RM 765.60
