About Gopeng
Gopeng is a small town, located south of Ipoh, the state capital
of Perak in Malaysia. About 15 minutes drive from Ipoh, you will
reached the town centre which has one main road. The bus station,
some temples & mosque, police station, fire station all are in the
town centre There are also old pre-war shophouses in the area.
More than half of the Gopeng's population is Chinese. During the tin
mining industry booming periods, many Chinese immigrants live and work
in Gopeng. There are also quite numbers of Orang Asli settlement here.
Today Gopeng has become a popular weekend gateway dued to it's nature
and serrounding. A lot of outdoor activities carry out in Kampar river
and the ever famous Tempurung Cave.
