Honors Chemistry
Mr. Polsinelli Class Web
site--www.geocities.com/LPolsi Welcome
to the 7th week of the LAST quarter in the 2008-2009 school year. ******************************************ANNOUNCEMENTS*********************************************** Only
3 weeks of class left before Final Exams. Monday,
May 25 is a school holiday *********************************************************************************************************** Last
week, we completed our work in
Chapter 14. Today, we had the
Chapter 13/14 exam. On
to chapters 15 & 16--Our last
unit of the year.
We'll do what we can to get through bonding in the next 3 weeks.
This week, we will look at Ionic Bonding, the properties of ionic
crystals, and bonding in metals. Next
week we'll begin to look at Covalent Bonds.
There is lots to do and very little time in which
to do it.
We'll be moving fast and furious--Be sure you keep
up. Parents--Encourage your student to work hard all
the way to June 4 Bonding
will be covered as part of the final exam. The
final
exam will be
32%
new material (bonding) and 68% old material
(Chapters 10, 11, 12, and 13/14 exams). Specifically,
there will be 32 multiple-choice
questions on bonding, and 17 each from chapters 10, 11, 12, and 13/14.
The format of the final exam will be multiple-choice.
The questions from chapters 10-14 will be based on, but not the same as,
those on old exams. Questions
will cover both calculations and theory. There
will be no partial credit on the calculation questions. I
suggest students begin reviewing as soon as possible.
There is a ton of material to review. *********************************************************************************************************** Homework
