ATC = Artist Trading Card Just as the name indicicates, these miniature works of art are meant to be traded. ATCs are also part of a larger art movement known as Mailart. Basically it's an international art exchange via the postal system. There are many websites dedicated to mailart, with lots of historical information, projects, Internet discussion groups, etc. Mailart is all-inclusive, there are no juries, so strings Its a leap of faith; you create art, send it out into the world, and if you receive anything in return it is a magical gift of communication, and color in your mailbox! There are a few rules you should know about: - Atc's should be the standard size of other trading cards(baseball, hockey): (64 x 89 mm - 2 1/2 x 3 1/2") - Atc's should be exchanged only, never sold. - Once you have that down, make some cards! use any techniqe or combination of techniques: pencil, charcoal, paint, marker, pastel, inks, collage, photography, paint, collage, photograph, rubber stamp, mixed media, found images, assemblage, etc.
