- As its name indicates, all members are living in
Limburg (the southernmost province of The
Netherlands). Members mostly are asked to
join by one of the musical directors. New members
have to do an audition. There are (within the
reasonable) no age limits; at the moments members
are between 14 and 57 years old.
- Every second saturday of the month there is choir
practice (this frequency may be higher before
special occasions).
- Every member studies the repertoire at home (study
cassettes are studied. Emphasis is
on the ensemble sound.
- During its (hitherto) short period of existence
the formula of singing with different musical directors has proven to be quite refreshing. The
directors themselves find it very useful and
satisfyimg to direct a choir as well as singing
in it.
- In the future guest directors will be asked to
practice, conduct and perform a piece or pieces
of music with the ensemble.
- The objectives of the ensemble:
- Performing a varied and
versatile repertoire; ' 'from motet to modern'.
- Promoting choral music
nationally and internationally.
- Singing at different
occasions and festivities.
- Undertaking 'projects';
music within a particular theme, from a certain
period or composer (hence the ensemble's name).
Something about our current activities:
Due to his very busy life, Dion Ritten has left the LPK. We want to
thank him for his activities and we said goodbye to him in a appropriate
way.
