Knoxville Symphony 2000 Season Guests
Click to see this larger Dionne Warwick was scheduled to perform with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra in January, replacing Wayne Newton due to his coming tour schedule conflicts.  While sick with the flu, she completed the first of two shows.  The following
evening she was too ill to perform.  Unknown to me at the time, Ms. Warwick was en route to the hospital when she took the time to sign my copy of her 1993 disc, FRIENDS CAN BE LOVERS.

February's KSO guest was Monica Mancini, daughter of the late Legendary Composer Henry Mancini.  Prior to one of the shows, she signed this copy of her self-titled album consisting of some of her father's well-known songs.

Ben E. King, the voice of "Spanish Harlem" as well as many Drifters' hits, autographed his STAND BY ME album when he was the symphony guest in March.

The season ended in May* with Guest Artists Tom and Dick Smothers, bringing the evening's music and comedy.
*There was no guest in April because of Doc Severinson's cancellation
