Jimmie Rodgers found overnight success in 1957 when "Honeycomb," his first single, went to #1. His golden year continued with other Roulette label hits like "Kisses Sweeter Than Wine," "Secretly," "The Long, Hot Summer," and others. He recorded for Dot label from 1962 until 1967, with notable singles "It's Over" and "The World I Used to Know." Signing with A&M that year, he had three albums and four non-album single-tracks. Two are pictured below. Rodgers hosted his own TV Variety show in 1959 and was summer host of the Carol Burnett Show in 1969. He has written commerical jingles and today performs in Branson, Missouri. |

The four non-album A&M single tunes by Jimmie are "Shadows" (A&M 842), "Tomorrow is My Friend" (A&M 1152), "What A Strange Town (the People Had no Faces)" (A&M 898), and "Father Paul" (A&M 1120). The latter two are shown. Contrary to the promo label, "Father Paul" was not included on SP4187. |
