September 12, 2001 (6:30pm) In the spring of 2001, when I first constructed my Summer Prayer for Peace page, there was no way I could have foreseen the tragedy that would take place only a few short months later. Then, as now, I believe that peace of any kind begins with you and me. This point has been brought home to me several times over during the past 30 hours, as people from all over this great nation of ours turned up in droves to donate blood and otherwise help the victims of this horrendous act of terrorism any way they could.
