| Purpose |
| The Lansing Police Cadet Program was established in 1978 to afford qualified young men and women, the oppertunity to affiliate themselves with a law enforcement agency prior to reaching the eligable age for appointments as police officers. The program is designed to attract young adults of outstanding ability and: -To provide them with a comprehensive training, compitition, service, practical, and recreational experiance. -To promote their character of development, physical fitness, good citizenship, and patriotism. -To make use of their services in a supplimental police capacity. -To encourage their intrest and enthusiasm for a career in law enforcement. The Lansing Police Cadet Program is associated with the Explorer Division of the Boy Scouts of America and is chartered as Law Enforcement Explorer Post #2950. Police Cadets are required to maintain membership in the Explorer Program, and are responsible for supplimental accident insurance fees. |
