Mercury is the first and closest planet to the sun. Mercury completes its orbit around the sun in 88 Earth days. It takes Mercury 59 Earth days to spin around, itself, once.
Venus is the second planet away from the sun. If compared to the Earth's rotation, Venus is considered to rotate backwards. Venus's days are actually longer than its years. Rain on venus can burn any living thing.

InteresTing... o.O
Ahh... our planet earth, it is the 3rd planet away from the sun. it has 24 hours in a day and 365 1/4 days in a year. What makes Earth so interesting? Its distance away from the sun is just right for life to form. Water can exist as liquid instead of a solid and the atmosphere is breathable.
The fourth planet from the sun -- Mars. About 687 days are needed for it to revolve around the sun once. Mars has two moons which looks more like asteroids... Recently, i believe, that NASA found some type of life on Mars.
Jupiter is the fifth planet away from the sun.It has a giant red spot called "The Great Red Spot." Its Great Red Spot is actually a spot of a huge storm. To my knowledge, the spot is actually shrinking. So far, 16 moons had been found for Jupiter. Also, Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System.
Saturn-- the 6th planet away from the sun and is also the 2nd largest in the solar system. It is a gas giant. It takes Saturn just 10 Earth hours to spin around once. It is also a very light planet due to the gases that it contains. Saturn's rings are made up of a combination of several different debrises in space such as specks of dust, and icy boulders.
The 7th planet away from the sun is Uranus. Over 84 Earth years are needed for it to orbit once around the sun. This is the only planet that revolves on its side.
Neptune-- this planet is the 8th planet from the sun, when Pluto doesn't intefere yet. It has 8 moons. Every 16 Earth hours, it makes a full spin around itself. Even though that it only takes 16 hours, but it takes 165 earth years for it to travel around the sun once. Neptune's atmosphere is full of methane gas which gives this planet a blue-ish color.
The 9th planet in the Solar System-- Pluto. It takes Pluto 249 years to orbit around the sun. Unlike other planets who have circle shaped orbits, Pluto's orbit is an oval shaped, so for roughly about 20 of its 249 years, it is the 8th planet away from the sun. Astronomers are debating whether or not Pluto is a planet or not because of its small size.
PLAN3T X
Is there a Planet X out there? It is said that IF Planet X does exist, it would be bigger than Pluto. I read in a disscussion on IVHS that one of my IVHS classmates said that the astronomers have recently found Planet X. Pretty interesting.
