Ms. Quackenbush began study of Russian as a Junior in high school. Upon completion of a B.A. in Russian at Florida State University, she was granted a Teaching Assistantship at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, where she later earned an M.A. in Slavic Languages and Literatures. With support from federal grants, she then researched academic interests in Moscow in 1992-1993. She also led student groups to Russia for stays in Moscow and St. Petersburg. From 1994-1996, Ms. Quackenbush served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bishkek, The Republic of Kyrgyzstan, where she taught English Composition and 20th Century American Literature at Bishkek Humanities University. She also interpreted/tranlsated for several international projects in Bishkek. Presently, Ms. Quackenbush teaches Russian, Levels 1 through Advanced Placement, at WWHS.
