Although a top prospect, Kazmir, the 5th overall pick in the 2004 rookie draft, is going to have to prove that he has what it takes to pitch in the bigs. His first stop? The Lp2 Minors.

AAA Season Draws Near...

The Let's Play Two Baseball League's 5th AAA season is right around the corner. Teams are frantically working on negotiating contracts with a number of players who are looking for a shot to sign a contract.

Players to watch:

19 year old B.J. Upton, who looks to battle Bobby Crosby for the starting job in Panama City. Rumor has it, B.J. may end up seeing time at 3rd base, as Crosby stays at short. "I'm just ready to play," stated Upton.

Catcher Joe Mauer: Many expect him to see some time in the bigs this season. However, expect Mauer to spend a majority of his time in NY, attempting to lead his team to a 3rd straight title. He and outfielder Jeremy Reed should provide a solid middle of the order for the Giants.

Starting pitcher David Bush: Bush, a highly touted prospect in the Redemption system, hopes to make a splash in the minors, influencing a quick call up. The Redemption, who are in rebuilding mode, have stated that they have no plans to rush Bush through their system. "He's got a lot of poise," stated Jake Westbrook, who worked with him "inside the walls." Look for Bush and Luke Hudson to notch a few wins this season.
