(Like I really need to say it) So far: Ok it stopped with the guys getting teamed up with the water cops from syd and cleaning up the factory cause they didn't have any cases at that moment. Rating: most likely (m) cause some language. (May be offensive to some but not to others) Summary: I used the idea of Louise's with Pete and Mac having to get married but the case doesn't go ahead cause Mac gets hurt... Spoiler: Mac/Pete story with the water cops together as one group and trying to work together. FACTORY... Pete and Mick and frank cleaning out the com V, Angie and Emma and mat filling the reports from the last case, stone and donna and Taylor can go through the computers, Dan and Rachel and Tommy are logging the tapes and Tommy isn't so happy about it but they all get on with there jobs while Mac takes Alex and Helen to her office and they talk. "So Pete have u eva been out with Mac u guys would make a great couple u no" said Mick "no relationships aren't really allowed" Pete said as they finished up and went to get the others to go to lunch. Everyone was out side Mac's office waiting for her, Alex and Helen to come out. Helen and Alex came out laughing and Ange asked "what's so funny" "as we were just about to come out to u guys the phone rang and Mac wasn't going to answer it so I did and it was the commissioner." Said Helen between laughs before they heard Mac scream "PETER CURCH!!!" Pete looked at Danni, Angie, and Stonie while they were all now at their desks waiting. They all said in unison "dam Pete what the hell did you do this time" and laughed. MAC'S OFFICE... U wanted to see me? He said "yeah that was the commissioner and he wants us to check out a crook celebrant" "yeah so" Pete said wondering were this was headed. "He wants u and myself to go in undercover and marry to get this guy" she said looking angry with him. "Why us why not Ange and me or Danni or even put me surveillance and stone go in"? He asked. "Don't know but tell them lunch is out and briefing in 5 minutes" she said as Pete left in a shitty mood and slamming her door getting everyone's attention. As he stood on the stairs to Mac's office he yelled out to the guys "hey Dan, stone, Ange, and everyone lunch is out briefing in 5 minutes" BRIEFING ROOM... Mac out the front talking to everyone bout their case. "Ok everyone we have to go in with a couple to get married and get this guy who has been making up false marriage certificates and put him away". Ange buts in "so Mac who's the couple" before Mac gets a chance Pete says "myself and Mac". Ange gives them both a good look before she starts to laugh, and try's to say "why not put me and stone in instead at least we'll make it look real" Mac then snapped at her "shut up Ange" Angie stopped and settled down quickly. "Ok we have to get everything ready tonight before anyone goes so we are ready for tomorrow ok" she says. "Ok Pete u and stone get the wiring and the van right, Dan and Ange u guys ring it all through and keep me up to speed ok" Danni, and Angie both say "yes boss" together before everyone starts to walk off to do wat they have to. MAC'S OFFICE... Angie and Danni talking to Mac after they have got everything organized. "So Mac what's going to happen tomorrow?" asks Angie. "Don't know Ange we just have to go through with it and find out weather he is legitimate or not". So wat happens if he is legitimate. Mac" states Danni "well Dan I guess ill have to be Mrs peter church wont I?" she said half-laughing before turning around to the window, and falling to the ground. KITCHEN... Pete and stone talking bout the case as they hear Angie and Danni scream. They both run to find out wat has happened and wen they open the door Pete runs to Mac while stone takes Angie and Danni out who are both in shock. MAC'S OFFICE... "Pete can u stop it? It hurts, Pete stop it from hurting please" tears rolling down her face while Pete takes his jacket off and wraps it around her. "Mac its going to be fine all u have to do for me is not to close your eyes and keep talking to me can u do that for me?" Pete asked. Mac looked up at him and nodded "yes Pete as long as u don't leave me". "Would I ever do that to u in a time like this?" Pete answered. Stone running back in to the office closing the door behind "I called the ambulance for u a few minutes back and said that we would be out the front waiting". "Ok thanks stone" turning away to face Mac again who had her eyes closed at this moment and Pete got scared "MAC MAC can u hear me? "Pete I want to sleep what's wrong?" she said opening her eyes. "Mac u said that you would keep your eyes open as long as I stayed with you and I haven't gone and I never will. Come on we have to go out side". GARAGE... Mac in Petes arms as he carries her away from her office. He also has her keys in hand. "Stone where are these assholes?" Pete snapped. "I don't know Pete they should be here by now" Oscar said worriedly. Pete turns to Ange "Ange are u ok to drive" "I don't think so Pete" she said still in shock. "Good catch these and through me mine" throwing Mac's keys at her. Pete catches his and turns to stone "right your driving me to the hospital with Mac" Pete said firmly. "But Pete...." Stone got cut off by Ange standing and saying "that if it would save Mac I will do it" Pete turned to through Ange the keys. "Good get in and put your foot down will u!". Just before they got in the car Pete turned to stone and whispered "don't let any of them leave here till I get back. That includes u and Dan as well ok?" "Yeah sure Pete we'll wait for your news on her" stone said a little louder so no suspicions went around bout what was said. HOSPITAL... Pete carrying Mac in screaming for help from a doctor. Once they were spotted they took Mac from Pete and took her straight to surgery. Pete and Ange waiting for any news on Mac when a doctor walked up to Pete. "Mr Mackenzie your wife will be fine. Pete was too worried bout Mac to be bothered to correct the doctor and so was Angie. If u like u may follow me to her room". Pete stood looking at Angie "Pete just go I'll give u some time before I come in ok" she said to a worried Pete. MAC'S ROOM... Pete sat next to Mac's bed for about 20minutes before she stirred after the anesthetic wore off. She sore Pete and tried to get up to hug him but said "u were right bout not leaving me. And I almost decided to leave u" Pete sat up on her bed "Mac..." Mac cut him off "Pete I love u" she said rather quickly not making eye contact with him. "Mac I have always loved u and if u left me to day I don't know what I would do" he said wiping tears off her face. Pete kissed Mac just before Ange came in. he said to Mac "don't let anyone in here that u don't know with out anyone u do, and there are to cops out side to keep u safe ok?" Mac answered by nodding. Just as Pete was bout to leave he went to the door were Ange was and told her "don't leave her until I get back, even if that means u have to wet your self DO NOT LEAVE HER! Got it?" yeah Pete ill be here the hole time till u get back with the others". Angie said rather taken aback and confused with wat Pete had just said to her. MAC'S OFFICE... Pete drives in and calls to stone and Danni as he goes into Macs office and they close the door. " Dan were was Mac before she fell?" Pete asked. Danni pointed to where Mac had been sitting at her desk just before she got up and went to her window. Pete had just realized some thing under the carpet near the window and told the Danni to get something that would be around Mac's weight and for stone to follow him to get bulletproof jackets. GARAGE AREA... "Ok no one is to leave this factory tonight or any night until this is cleared up and who ever has done this if it is one of you steps forward or until we track down who ever did this to her you got all that" Pete said quite firmly. All the water cops nodded. LOCKER ROOM... " Ok Pete we have three jackets and some head wear for you to use is that good enough do you think"? Stone said rather taken aback that one of the Sydney cops could have put Mac in the hospital. " Yeah stone that should be great, let's do this yeah." Pete said thinking about Mac the hole time. Stone helped Pete put on the vests and jackets before they headed for Mac's office once again. MAC'S OFFICE... "Ok so Dan wen you put that down you stay down there ok, you don't move, don't even try to move back and get up you stay were you are got it"? Pete stated. Danni answered with a slight nod. "Ok guys lets do this shall we" Pete hesitated. Danni put the box that she had found that resembled Mac's weight on the floor as Pete stood ready for the bullet. Once she had done it and the shot had been fired Pete saw where it had come from. He got stone to go out and get the gun, while Danni and Pete ripped up the carpet to find a peddle that had a wire coming out of it and headed through the wall and out side. Once stone had come back with the gun Pete looked at both of the items and read out loud for stone's and Danni's benefit "water police Sydney". BRIEFING ROOM... "Right I no that not all of you have come to like Mac and the way she does some things, BUT that does NOT give you the right to try to kill our boss" Pete stated strongly. "Also some of you may not like the fact that you are being given orders from a woman and not a male like back at home for you, so all of you are under suspicion for the attempted murder of Detective Senior Sargent Ellen Mackenzie" Danni added. "All of you are now grounded to base from this moment on and are not allowed to leave here under any circumstances, you all understand!"? Stone fired away in disgust. They all nodded and said yes with their heads down in disgust of themselves. MAC'S ROOM... Mac is sleeping when Pete arrives that night after finding out that it was one of the Sydney cops. Angie looked up at him when he entered he woke her. "So Pete you found anything yet?" she asked inquisitively. "Umm, yeah I'm afraid so" he said looking at Mac. "Pete wat do you mean afraid so, I mean its like it was someone who you trusted" Pete then turned to Angie and said quietly not to wake Mac "yeah Ange it is people that we have to trust". At this last comment Angie looked confused. "Angie it was one of those water coppers, their stuff was found in her office under the carpet so when she stepped on it the gun positioned out side would go off". Angie looked at Pete then at Mac then back at Pete "Pete why would anyone want to hurt her for, I mean look at her she's beautiful, smart, kind, honest, and just a great friend". At this Angie started to cry when Pete went over to her. THE FOLLOWING MORNING MAC'S ROOM... Pete woke to his head being kissed and knew that it wasn't Angie. He looked up at her "Mac after I left you yesterday I went back to the factory and Stone, Dan, and I did our own little investigation and we found that it was one of our little water friends that set it up so that you would get shot". Pete said rather cautiously looking at Mac the hole time. But before Mac could answer him with a few questions the nurse came in to check on her. As the nurse was about to leave Mac called her back and said strongly "I want to discharge myself". The nurse looked at her then at Pete who was also taken aback by this said "yes dear I'll get you the forms to sign, but you must also sign others saying that it is in your best interests to stay". And the nurse left. "Mac what are you playing at you are not strong enough to come back to work, you know it I know it even the hospital knows it". Pete said trying to convince her not to sign. But it was not use the nurse had come back with the papers and Mac had already signed them before even thinking about what Pete had said. FACTORY... Pete drove down the ramp with Mac in the car looking like she was in pain but trying to cover it up. "Mac you know you cant fool me I know you to well, why do you want to come back so soon when your still in pain?" Pete said as he stopped the car. "Well Pete I want to find out first hand which bastard put me in that hospital" then as they got out the car she also said quickly "you and I both know how terrible that food is as well" she said with a small laugh then cringing in pain. As they got out of the car Angie, Danni, and Stone all came up to help her (with all the Sydney cops watching) but she said "what the hell are you guys doing I thought we had a case to wok on" with a smile coming to her lips. Then they all laughed. As Pete went around the front of the car Mac had passed out into Stones arms and Pete grabbed her looking at her wound. "Dam you Mackenzie, you will never admit defeat will you?" he said as he saw her wound beginning to bleed. Pete picked her up as Stone and Danni moved Pete's desk to adjoin to Angies so it was like a table bed. As Pete put Mac down he yelled at Stone "in the back there is a bag they gave me with other dressings in it to use cause it has to be changed get one now can you, and bloody hurry!". As Pete lifted up Mac's top and pulled the other one off there was more bleeding and Pete couldn't handle it cause it was coming out of someone that he really cared bout. When Stone got back he had the whole bag "where is the dam thing I can not bloody find them!" Stone stated in a rather shaky voice. Stone then noticed that Mac's chest wasn't rising and threw the bag at Angie and went made to find a pulse. "Pete I can't find it." Pete looked at Angie who went over to where Pete was and took up the position to fix the dressing on. Pete then went and checked for him self to make sure that Stone was telling the truth. Pete looked at Stone mortified that she had stopped breathing and started EAR. Once Pete had started he didn't realize that Mac's chest was starting to rise on its own. When he went to give the last breath she kissed him and mumbled "Pete I'm not dead." At the Pete looked at her confusion in his face as he sat her up after Angie had finished the dressing. "I know your not dead but what in the hell was that little fucking scene bout then,? Hay?" Pete whispered to her as he put Mac in his chair and sat on the table. Mac tried to hid a small laugh but couldn't as she broke out in fits of laughter. BRIEFING ROOM... Mac out the front leaning on Pete who was trying to hold her up so she wouldn't collapse again. "RIGHT I have heard that one or more of you are the reason that I was taken to hospital! I am not that thrilled about it and not only because it could have been one of you but also that the food in there is totally crap and tastes like shit" Pete tried a small laugh but it didn't go unnoticed and Mac hit him "SHUT UP Pete." Mac was now more fired up then any of her team had seen her which even made Pete feel threatened by her, which was showing on his face as he turned to Angie who was looking at Pete in sympathy. After Mac had, had her go at them all she went to retreat to her office but Pete held her back and took her to his desk. "Umm Mac there is something I really need to talk to you bout" Pete stated firmly. Mac looked at him dumbfounded. "Well get on with it will ya" she said teasingly, but changed her mood when Pete started looking around the factory. "Pete what is it?" Mac was starting to get worried. "Mac not here, not at this moment as long as you stay out of your office for the rest of the day and ill tell you on the way home." Pete whispered to her. Mac was shocked with what Pete had just said and pulled away from him and was about to start yelling at him but then she saw his face saying "please Mac please" so she didn't say anything. PETES CAR... "Ok Pete wat is it that you couldn't tell me with everyone around?" Mac asked inquisitively. Pete thought for a few seconds before answering her "well Mac you see I can't really tell you here either can you wait till I take you to my place for dinner?" Pete said rather carefully. Mac stared at him before answering " yeah I guess so, I've been patient so far what's another say 5minutes hay" looking down at her watch. Trying not to smile. PETES HOUSE... Pete and Mac are inside and Pete goes to start dinner trying not to make eye contact with Mac. Mac following him into the kitchen "Pete what is it that you wanted to talk to me about." Mac started to get impatient now. Pete turned around to face her. "Mac you know how much I have always loved you don't you?". Not waiting for a reply kept going. " Mac when these Sydney cops came down one of them got me reflecting about us and well I don't know if I want to work for you anymore". Mac looked at Pete as he went to grab her but pulled away when he said that. "Pete what do you mean?" Mac said getting angry. "Mac you mean the world to me and if I can not have you cause of all these stupid rules and regulations I'm going to get repositioned or quit just so I can be with you." Mac then looked back at Pete after skimming the room and went closer to him. "You wouldn't be recording this would you?" Mac stated with a smile. "No I just wanted you to know how I have always felt and what I wat now, even if it does mean me quitting my job to..." Mac cut him off by kissing him passionately. Pete pulled away first "do you really feel like eating" he whispered to Mac with a suggestive grin. Mac looked at him and answered with a kiss. THE FOLLOWING MORNING ........ THE FACTORY... Pete and Mac arrive together. Angie gives Mac a weird look and then eyes Pete. "Pete I need to talk to you do you mind?" Angie said trying not to laugh. "No that's fine Ange" as he followed Angie to the kitchen. "Well come on did you do it" Angie was getting eager. "No not yet but I eased in to it sort of. I mean I told her that I would quit to be with her and I think that she now knows something is going on...." Angie started to raise her voice "YOU SAID WAT!! Pete you know as well as I do we can not loose you, you are what keeps us all going sane you can not go not...." Angie stopped as she saw Danni coming over to see what was going on. "So Pete what did you do this time, I mean to get Ange worked up and all?" Danni said with a smirk as Angie ran out to find Mac. Pete went after her. "Nothing Danni personal" he said running. "Ange don't" but it was too late she was already with Mac sobbing. MAC'SOFFICE... Pete, Mac and Angie all on the couch. "Pete you have to do it now or I will tell" Angie said through sobs. Pete looked at her then at Mac who was now getting worked up. "Ange I can't I'm scared that she'll say no" Pete whispered to her. "Pete the only way she can say no is if you ask." Angie said composing herself. Pete looked at Mac and got up and walked over to her. By now Mac could see what he was doing from a mile away and before he could say anything she jumped up and kissed him. "What was that for" looking at Mac. "What do you think?" she stated sarcastically. "So I take it to mean yes" Ange butted in looking at the both of them content in each other's arms. Mac turned to her "What do you think I would say I mean look at hi would I eva let this go more than once" she said laughing. As Mac, Pete and Angie came out of Mac's office Mac called for Danni and Stone. DESK AREA... "So you to are finally going through with it" Stone said happily. "Yeah mate but I don't think that I can still work her though" with Pete finishing off this all the water cops had formed a group around them all, when they heard the groans. Pete looked at Mac then at the guys. "But you know how much I'll miss you guys don't you?" Pete said with a half smile. Then Mac's phone rang "back in a sec to continue guys" she said racing up the stairs. When Mac came back to the group she had a smile on her face. "What's happened this time" Pete said sarcastically. "Not much, only that you don't have to leave or quit your job." She said all in smiles. "Well are you going to tell us or do we have to guess" Danni said. "Umm I got the homicide job, which there fore leaves my job vacant and..." looking at Pete "which means you get the job." She stated loudly for all to hear. As Pete grabbed Mac and swung her around there was groans from Danni, Angie, and Stone. But all in all they were all happy. To be continued... "Mac when do you start?" an inquisitive Ange asked. "Umm as soon as possible, so I guess tomorrow." She answered. "So that means that I really do get to boss you guys around now hay? And hay Danni I'm the boss." Pete said laughing. "Yeah thanks for that reminder Pete, just brings back memories." She answered. FOLLOWING DAY... Pete arrived and automatically went over to the guys. "So how is everyone this morning?" "Not bad Pete..." but before Ange could finish he cut her off. "So why all the long faces then?" he asked. But before an answer was given he heard a very familiar voice. !!PETER CHURCH!! He span around to the voice to see Mac pissed off standing at the top of the stairs. "Mac what's the problem" he said almost running to her as she went down the stairs and to the briefing room. Pete followed with Ange and Stone in tow. BRIEFING ROOM... Once Mac opened the door the lights went on and there was Danni, and all the water police yelling "surprise!" Pete turned to Mac "you had something to do with this didn't you?" he asked or rather demanded. Mac just looked at him and smiled. "So you like it for your first day as boss?" "Well you know if I get this every time I move up in the ranks then I want you to have your job back so I can get it again" he said smiling pulling Mac towards himself, and kissed her in front of everyone. "Hey Pete I thought that you said that relationships were out of the question cause they weren't allowed." Mick said smugly. "Yeah Mick they are" Pete said looking at Mac, then pulled her into him once more. "You do realise that I am only here really on business cause you have another case." Mac said smiling. Mac and Pete then left the party. PETE'S OFFICE... Pete and Mac sitting on the lounge. " You know Mick don't you?" Mac asked questioningly. "Yeah isn't that the guy that Elly..." Pete stopped as he saw Mac starting to fight back tears unsuccessfully. "Yeah Pete it is, and he got out this morning and I'm afraid..." Mac got interrupted by Pete. "Mac I'll take as much time off as I can and we'll track her down and I'll protect her." Pete stated as he looked at her, when she had a questioning look. "But I thought that she was in your care Pete" "Mac..." Pete started taking a deep breath "she was with me to start with but it got too much with work, I mean I was thinking of quitting so I could look after her, but I didn't know if you wanted me to or not." "Pete if you don't have her then where is she?" Mac asked fear in her eyes and voice. "Mac I put her in witness protection and I have all the information on her family cause I said that I might want to visit her and she also said that she wanted me too so I was given it." Pete stopped before finishing looking at Mac with tears starting to sting her eyes but looked at Pete. "Well you want find her before he does or what?" Pete said as he got up looking down at Mac. DESK AREA... Pete and Mac coming out of the office Mac in Pete's arm which is around her waist and walking towards the others who are now finally all getting along, and Danni has become friends with Donna just like Ange and they are always getting into trouble. "Hey guys I'm taking time off work for personal reasons and I don't really know when I will be back. Actually I'll return once everything is sorted out, so I guess I'll see you guys round." Pete said with worrie and sadness in his voice, then he and Mac left. PETE'S PLACE... Mac and Pete walking through the door and going to the lounge room. "Mac sit and relax, and I'll go and get all the paper work about Elly ok." Pete said pushing Mac on the sofa. As Pete left she kept looking at him until he went up stairs and disappeared. Mac got up and started to worrie and get upset as she found photos of herself, Pete, and Elly. Pete was coming down with his head in paperwork, he looked up and saw Mac with the photos. "Mac-" Pete got cut off "Pete what if some things happened to her?" Mac said turning and looking and looking at Pete with tears running down her face. Pete walked over to her and sat with her. "Mac nothing has happened and nothing will." Pete said sympathetically. "You don't know that for sure Pete, what if that arsehole has already gotten to her?" "Mac he hasn't it will take him at least a week to get the bloody information about where she is." By now Mac was well and truly sobbing and Pete was cradling her with his arms wrapping tighter and tighter around her saying that he was there for her. "Well Mac I have everything and what about we go to Sydney?" he stated with a smile. PETE'S CAR... THE FOLLOWING MORNING... Pete looking over at Mac "you know she'll be fine don't you? I mean she put him away once she'll be able to hold him off." "She may not be able to Pete, not again now that he knows about her." Mac started getting upset. Pete tried to make her feel better but she pulled away and they both sat in silence the rest of the way. CHRIS'S PLACE... Pete and Mac waiting at the front door Pete with all the paper work in one hand and the other wrapped tightly around Mac, as the door opens "can I help you with anything?" Shannon asked. "Umm we were wondering if Chris or Julie's were home by any chance." Pete asked to the dazed face. "Umm wait here a sec." And Shannon walked off. The next figure to appear is Chris. "Yes." "Hi Chris we were wondering if you could spare a few minutes to talk about your daughter?" Pete asked. Chris looked at them and realised that they meant Elly (her name was now Ebony). "Yeah sure come in." Mac and Pete scan the house for signs of Elly. Pete sat down to talk to Chris, while Mac found some photos or Elly and went to look at them. "So where about's is she now?" Pete said rather demandingly. "She went on a camp with her godmother and the rest of the family, down the south coast somewhere." Chris said, looking over at Mac and his eyes saying why, and I don't really know where they are. "Ok what if we throw names at you, do you think that you could get it?" Pete said strongly. "Mmm, yeah maybe. " By now Mac had started to walk over to Pete and Chris with a photo to show Pete. "Hey Pete what do you think." Showing him the photo. "Think bout what?, features?" he said starting to smile as Mac sat next to him. "Not much." She said smiling at Pete. By now Pete had his arm around Mac's waist as she lent into his shoulder looking at the photo. Pete started to say different names to Chris hoping that one would ring a bell. "Narooma, Bega, Bombala, Bournda, Merimbula..." "wait go back" "what Bournda?" "Yeah that sounds right" "that's great I guess we better go it's a long trip back to Melbourne, so thanks anyway." Pete said friendly, standing with Mac and heading for the door. BOURNDA CAMPSITE... Elly siting with her Auntie Beb and playing with Jordan her new cousin who was 8 months old. "Auntie Beb what would you do if you knew who your mother was but you got adopted and weren't allowed to see her?" Elly said out of the blue looking at Beb. "What makes you say that?" "Well just hypothetically what would you do?" she said getting upset. "Beb coming down to the ground to where Ell was sitting "hey Eb what's wrong? Why are you asking these questions?" Beb asked with worrie wringing clearly through. "Well umm...this" she hands a letter to Beb. "Dear Elly, I'm afraid I have some bed news, Mick escaped from gaol a few days ago and I'm afraid that he has you in mind. Please try to find your mother before its too late. She'll be able to help you out. Regards Commissioner Gordon" Beb looked at Elly "what is this Eb." Beb asked getting worried "well my mum is an undercover police officer and when I was born so was I cause they needed someone else and the commissioner said that it was fine, so I joined and I did this case when I was bout 6 or 7 and got this guy put behind bars, now by the sounds of that letter he's out and wants me to pay for the last 10 years that I have ruined of his life." By now Elly had gotten really upset and was crying uncontrollably so she got up and ran to the lake. With Beb carrying Jordan in tow. Once she got to the lake Elly was sitting on the sand crying. 'Eb come on it can't be that bad" "but it is." By now Mac and Pete had arrived at the campsite. Mac and Pete going around with the photo that Mac took from the house. Mac went into the tent where everyone was either playing games, eating, talking, or just having fun in general. She went up to the first child she saw and showed him the photo. "Excuse me have you seen this girl?" Dieter looked at the photo and said "yes that's Eb" "do you know where she is?" "Umm last time I saw her she was at auntie Beb's tent playing with Jordan." Mac's eyes lit up "can you show me where that is?" Dieter looked at her then at his father who was starting to walk over. "Can we be of assistance to you?" Chris said. Mac turned around. "Umm yeah I'm looking for Eb, you wouldn't happen to know where she is would you?" before answering Chris saw the desperation in Mac's eyes. "Yeah Dieter can take you to Beb's tent." "Thankyou so, so much." Mac and Dieter walked to Beb's tent, then Dieter ran back to finish the game. Mac couldn't see anyone so she started yelling out for Ell. "Ell...Ell...it's me Ell." Down at the lake Eb heard Mac's voice and got up running to her, Mac didn't get an answer so she turned to walk away. "Mum...Mum...I'm here Mum." Mac turned to Elly running up to her. Mac opened her arms and grabbed her. "Ell I thought I would never see you again." "Mum I got a letter from Commissioner Gordon." Ell stopped when she saw Pete, then looking back at Mac who smiled at her to go to see him. Elly ran up to Pete who grabbed her and swung her around before hugging her. "Hey what are you doing hay? What have you been up to?" Pete asked smiling. "Not much, how bout yourself, how's the force going?" before Pete could answer they heard a baby and Elly ran down to the lake with Mac and Pete in tow. Before she got all the way she turned to Pete and grabbed his ankle and got a gun out. "Ell what are you doing? You don't know for sure that it's him." Elly not paying attention but looking at the engraved name on the gun then looking at Pete "you kept it." She said tears welling in her eyes. "Yeah why wouldn't I, I did get it for you remember gift for getting in so young." They kept going and found Jordan crying, sitting on the ground. Ell put her gun in her belt and picked Jordan up. She calmed him down and gave him to Mac and said to both Pete and Mac "take him up to the main tent and give him to Emmy, after you do that DO NOT Come back down." "Ell no!" "Pete no arguments don't come back." "Ok we won't." Mac said looking at Pete. Mac and Pete walked off with Jordan, Ell got out her gun flicked the safety off and was ready. She shouted "Mick come out, this is between you and me no one else. Let Beb go she has nothing to do with this, she doesn't even know you, she doesn't even know what's going on. Miiick." He comes out with Beb in front of himself. "You know Elly that's right but knowing that you care for her why would I let her go?" he said smugly. "Mick Jordan needs his mother!" Mick looks down at Beb and then back at Elly and lets Beb go. Beb runs up to Elly and Elly tells her "auntie Beb go back up, auntie Em has Jordan." With that she left. Elly and Mick are left at the lake when Mick goes to run past her but Elly grabs him and with her gun to his back walks him up to the others. Mac and Pete run to them to take Mick. Pete cuffs him and they sit him down at one of the tables in the tent and Elly questions him while the others have moved away. "State your name for the record." Elly demanded. "Mick Mitchell." "Why would you escape gaol, come after me when I was a child, and knowing that mum and Pete would be here already have been here and back up is on stand by?" she waits "well answer." She stated, staring into his eyes. "Why, I'll tell you why, you know how it feels when some one asks you why you are in gaol and you have to tell tem that a 7 year old female child put you in there you know how embarrassing that is? Do you? That's the worst thing that anyone could know." Mick stated. "Why tell them that a 7 year old female child put you there? Why not just say a child? Children range from 3 till bout 15 or 16 know one would ever know!" Elly stated sarcastically. By now Elly had her gun pointed at Mick. "Ell don't do anything stupid." Pete said carefully, watching her. "Pete this scum deserves anything he gets after what he did to me." She said not taking her fix off Mick. "Go on why not tell everyone what you did to me?" she waited "Uh come on you had plenty to say before why wont you say anything now?" Elly said strongly as she was walking around the table and face to face -millimeters away from the face that had been haunting her for the past 10 years. Mick looked around then back at Elly and kissed her, she kicked him a few times and belted him so he stopped and fell to the ground. Now Elly was really angry. "No Elly don't I only did it cause I love you!" Mick said. Elly with fury burning through her eyes "what!" you didn't even know me when you did it, you still don't know me you never will and I'll make sure of that!" she said forcefully with the gun ready and waiting orders to fire, when Pete stepped in "Ell, no you don't wont to do that, I know he deserves it but not from you!" Pete stated. For the first time in 15minutes Elly changed focus and turned to Pete. "No he does deserve it from me, its my life he screwed up, he's the one that took me away from mum and my life." Pete then stepped in front of her and tried to grab the gun, but alas she had a firm grip on it and then it fired and Pete fell to the ground holding his stomach to try to stop the bleeding as Mick got back up on the chair with Mac now watching him as Elly went to Pete. "Pete, Pete. Can you hear me? Pete!" Elly grabbed the walkie talkie "Officer Down I repeat Officer Down" "Pete come on." Elly well and truly crying now. "Ohh did we shoot daddy did we? Ohh." Mick said sarcastically. Elly turned around at this and jumped up and went to Mick as Mac took her spot next to Pete. "What do you mean?" "Well I told you I know your family history." Mick said smugly. "Well looks like you don't cause my fathers and arsehole and left mum to raise me, but lucky for her Pete's a great friend to her and helped out." Elly stopped as she saw Mick's face fix on Mac and Pete then she turned around "mum he is wrong isn't he?" Mac looked at Pete then back to Elly but Pete answered "no Ell he's right I'm your father." Elly was stunned but she managed to face Mick again as she lent towards his face "I'll give you till the count of three if I can still see you I'll shoot if not then your gone. But you are never to cross paths with me or my family ever again you got that?" "Sure but if you shoot me then what?" Mick said sarcastically. "Well if you die good, but if I only wound you then your still not going to cross paths with me or my family." "Ok, but let me get away first." Mick tried but didn't work. "Count to 3 1..." Mick got up and started running as Elly got her gun ready. "2... 3" she could still see him and fired twice hoping that she killed him. Then as the ambulance and the police came Elly rushed over to her father. "Daddy don't leave me. Please don't leave me again." She said through sobs. Once Pete had been taken in the ambulance, Elly ran out to Pete's car and got in. she laid on the horn for Mac to come. Mac came out with Beb on her tail and also got in. "NO! Your not coming" Elly said. "Eb come on I need to know if he's alright or not." "Ok come on." Elly started the car and sped off with a shit load of dust gathering behind them. Once they reached the road and off the dirt track Ell put on the sirens and sped to the hospital. HOSPITAL...MELBOURNE... Once they reached the hospital Elly and Mac and Beb who was carrying Jordan all ran into the hospital. Elly ran up to Collette at the nurses' station and started yelling, "where's Pete?" Mac and finally caught up to her. Collette looked at Mac and put two and two together as she grabbed Elly and tried to comfort her. "Ellen! It's so good to see you, what can I do?" "Umm would you be able to tell us where abouts Pete is?" Mac asked. Collette looked at Mac "he's here?" she asked. Mac looked at Elly then at a doctor who she knew would be able to help, cause he has treated both Pete and herself when they come in. "Doctor" Mac caught his attention "yes Ellen" "Umm I was wondering if you have treated Peter Church?" "Oh umm yes I have, he's very lucky-" he stopped looking at Elly crying into her mothers shoulder. "He'll be alright" then looking at Mac mouthed "she his?" Mac nodded, looking upset herself. "Ok family come with me." They all followed. Elly holding Beb's hand firmly as they rounded the corner to Pete's room. "I think it would be best if one went in at a time." Mac looked at Elly "you go first sweetie." "Thanks mum was the reply from the uncontrollably sobbing girl. PETE'S ROOM... Elly slowly walking past an elderly patient and going towards Pete. Once she reached him she couldn't help herself but scream. Elly came running out of the room yelling for her mother. Mac stood and opened her arms to the terrified girl. "Hay what's wrong?" she said pushing Elly away and looking at her. Seeing the look of vulnerability that Mac saw often in herself. "Its horrible, its just horrible mum, it can't be him, its not." Elly managed to say through tears. Mac looked at Beb who was now standing. Elly went to Beb who hugged her while Mac went in to see Pete. Mac had seen Pete look worse than this, but this time it was different she had her daughter to think about now and she wanted Pete to stay and so did Mac. Mac sat down next to Pete's bed "hay you come on she needs you more than any one has ever said that they need you." Mac grabbing Pete's hand in hers, "Come on Pete your her father, you think that I needed you when she was born?, well not as much as she has needed you her whole life, not even knowing that her father has been there with and for her the whole time." Mac started crying, when Elly and Beb holding Jordan came in. Elly noticed that she had stopped just as they were coming in and went up to her mother. "Mum what's wrong? You know that he'll make it." Ell's face dropped looking at her Mother. "You know something I don't, don't you?" Ell stated like Pete would. Mac started crying at this. "Mum what' wrong?" Ell asked concern ringing clearly through. "Ell no matter what happens if he lives or dies please don't leave me again, please. You so much like your father its not funny and to top that off I can't, can't loose you again it hurts me too much." With this Elly started to fight back unwanted tears unsuccessfully while Pete awoke. Pete put his hand to Ell's face wiping away the tears. "Hay your not going any where and neither am I, she needs both of us kido." Elly and Mac turned and laughed as Pete shifted his hand and gaze to Mac's face. "I mean it I'm not going to leave you again, now that everything is back to normal how bout getting me out of here?" "Dad you can't, not yet." Elly saw how her parents were looking at each other and decided to leave them alone for a while. "Auntie Beb, Jordan, and I are going to get a drink you guys want anything?" "No thanks" Mac and Pete said together, their gazes fixed on each other. WAITING ROOM... "I think we should give 'em some time alone hay?" Elly asked Beb. "Yeah. Hay Eb why didn't you tell anyone before about your past, your parents and just everything?" "Well I thought that it was best not to at the time cause Pete was meant to come up and see me every weekend until I got settled but he never came, and I thought" Elly started to cry. "That they wanted nothing to do with me any more and that they only put me up for adoption to get rid of me not to protect me." Elly well and truly crying. Beb calmed her down after a while Elly picked up Jordan when Collette came to talk to Elly but they both walked past Collette and into Pete's room. PETE'S ROOM... Elly, Beb, and Jordan come in and Elly introduces Beb to Pete and says that she is his sister according to the hospital . "Hey dad how you feeling?" "not bad Ell, not bad." "Cool dad, umm before I forget and incase the hospital ask questions this is Beb and she's your sister ok." "Ell what are you talking about?" Pete asked confusion in his voice. "Well I told the hospital that she was your sister cause she wanted to see how you were going and if your ok." Elly answered smiling. As she finished Ange, Stone, Danni, and all the water police came in. Mac turned around. "Ange guys what are you doing here?" "Umm Mac we found out bout Pete..." Danni was cut off when Elly turned around and Ange saw her. "Ell is that really you?" Ange asked in amazement. Ell jumped up and went to Ange and Stone. "Ange, Stone?" Elly asked. They nodded and hugged her. "How have you been? Last time I saw you, you were so small." Stone said, as Ange started crying. "Yeah and I remember the last time I saw you Ange you were also crying." Elly said and they laughed. Stone looked at Mac and Pete. "So she knows the truth?" "Yeah Stone we told her." Pete was cut off "yeah when I was in the middle of shooting Mick." Ell laughed. Ange and Stone exchanged glances then looked at Ell "he came after you again?" "Yeah but its ok, the wounded is still kicking so to speak." Pete, Mac, Elly, Ange, and Stone all laughed, while everyone wanted to be filled in. mainly Danni. "Hay I'm here to." She stated. Elly now for the first time saw Danni and looked at Mac. "Mum whose?" Elly said pointing at Danni. Mac walked over to Elly and introduced her to Danni. "Danni this is my daughter Elly, Ell this is Danni." Mac said. Elly gestured for Mac to bend down so she could whisper to her. "Hay mum she looks like she can't cope with the job." As Mac straightened up she was laughing. She looked at Elly. "You know that's what I though about your dad." Pete heard this and laughed. "Don't worrie Ell she gets the job done." Ell turned to her father, then to Danni, then back to Pete "and let me guess you told her you were boss first day and she got busted?" Ell laughed. Danni looked at her "yeah, how did you know?" she asked in amazement. Ell turned to Danni but saw Tommy behind her. "Tom that you?" Danni turned round and they saw each other. "Eb, what are you doing here?" he asked going up to her and hugging her. "Well this is my mum" pointing to Mac "and the wounded here" Elly walking over to Pete. "Is my dad" Pete didn't really like being called wounded so he sat up and grabbed Elly and tickled her after pulling her on to the bed. "Dad, dad stop it." Ell was saying through laughs. Mac went over to them. "Pete" Mac said quietly but strongly. Pete looked at her and stopped. Elly jumped down and continued talking to Tommy. "So I told you why I'm here now what about you?" "Well you know how I'm in the water police up in Syd?" "yeah" "well I put my name down to come down here to see what you parents and friends do." Tommy then stopped and questioned again. "So if these guys are your family what bout Chris and everyone." Confusion ringing through. Elly looked at Mac who answered for her. "Well Tommy when Elly was younger she put a crim away and he got out and went after her, but was caught even through she had to go through witness protection and then she got adopted that way and he got out again, and we went to where ever we found her." "Bournda" Pete interrupted. "Now she's here seeing if her father is making a full recovery." Elly walks over to Beb. "Can I hold Jordan?" "sure" Beb gave Elly Jordan and she took him over to Pete. "Hay they're little man" Pete said. But it didn't go down very well cause Jordan started crying. Elly picked him back up and he settled. "If that's what you do to him I wonder what you did to me." Elly laughed, and walked back over to Beb who was in the corner. "Come on you've seen he's ok, now why don't you talk to him?" "Eb I can't" "that's ok" "Hay Ell we're gonna go now ok, we'll see ya latter." "Oh ok hug first." Ange and Elly hug. "I've missed you so much Ange." "I've missed you too Ell." They all leave, leaving Mac, Pete, Ell, Beate, and Jordan in the room. "Hay Ell you guys should go back to camp so they know that you're alright." "No dad I want to stay here, what if something happens to you and I'm not here?" "Ell nothing will happen, I'll stay with him." "Ok...wait, I'll be right back." Elly ran out to Pete's car and grabs the walkie-talkies out of the glove box and runs back. "Ok I'll keep one you guys have the other, I'll put this one on in the car on the way back and you guys have this one. I don't care what time it is but if anything goes wrong call me." "Ok Ell, its starting to sound like you're my mother, just go." "Ok dad, bye mum love ya heaps, you to dad." Ell kissed them both on the cheek and goes with Jordan and Beb. PETE'S CAR... Elly turning on and testing the walkie-talkies. "Mum you there? Over" "yes Ell. Are you still in the car park? Over" "how can you tell? Over" "because we can still see the car over" Mac and Pete laugh. "Ok I'll keep it on always over and out." Beb looking for a tape or something to put on. "Hay Eb...Elly." "You do know you can still call me Eb." "Ok, but what's this?" Beb shows the tape to Elly that has ELLY'S written on it. "Don't really know let's listen to it." Elly puts the tape in and after starting the car and driving out of the hospital presses play. "Hay mum, mum look what daddy's doing" "what is daddy doing sweetie?" "Come look see me and daddy." As this played Elly had released that when she was younger she had always referred to Pete as daddy but when she started work with them started calling him Pete. "Daddddyyyyy, sto..." "shit Mac she's doing it again." "get her up to...." It cut out "Hay Ell its dad I don't really know what to say, but I really miss you and I wish that I quit my job instead of letting you go. It has killed me every day knowing that I may never see you again. But you may have already guessed that I'm Pete and yes I'm your dad. I know you think little of your dad but not knowing that it is me I don't blame you to think that your dad's an asshole, but I have always been therefore you and I'm always therefore you I'll never leave you before I see you once more at least." Elly having trouble restraining her tears, starts sobbing. "Anyway your mum wants to say something but before she does I just want you to know that you're my reason for living and you're the best thing that has ever happened to me and in my life. Come on Mac leave her a note just incase." "Pete I can't, I can't talk into a machine and hope she'll some day here it after I die, I want to see her and talk to her." Mac started crying with Pete calming her, when the tape runs out. Elly turns it over with a smile coming between her sobs. "Hay sweetie I guess you must have heard what I said before, but I can't do this. I want to see you and I will, I'm going to track you down and take you back. I love you dearly." Mac then cried but it sounded muffled like she was crying into Pete's shoulder. "Ell this was recorded for you when you were in witness protection on your 8th birthday we both miss you beautiful" Pete added as a closing message. BOURNDA CAMPSITE... Elly stopped the car 6 hours latter and got out and ran to the tent to get her bag and things. She goes back to the car and puts her stuff in the boot. Beb gets out leaving Jordan sleeping in the car to get their stuff as well when Ell goes to get her folder from the main tent. She walks in and gets met by a detective that she doesn't know. "Excuse me do you know the person who got shot or Mick?" Elly looked at him then at the taped area where her father fell, and she nodded. But before it went any further another detective saw her. "Elly, Ellen Marie?" he stated in amazement. "Detective Senior Sargent" "Elly" he ran up to her and hugged her tightly walking her into the tent with the other Detective in confusion. "So how is your mother?" "She's good she's with d... Pete at the hospital making sure he doesn't run." She said forcing a smile. The other Detective came up to them to ask Elly more questions. "Elly is it?" "Yeah" "Umm I need some more details on that nod you gave before." "Ok shot." "Ok umm... what's your relationship to Detective Senior Sargent Church?" "Umm" Elly looking around to see if the commissioner was there. "He's my father" she said quietly. "He's what?" Rocca said "sshh, I don't want him in trouble Rocca!" "Ok" "umm... next is what's your relationship to Mick Mitchell?" Elly took a deep breath "I put him away 10 years ago for child molestation." She said not making eye contact. "Ok Detective that's all." He walks away "thanks Burnie." "That's ok you know I'm here for you, don't you?" "Yeah." "So where you staying?" "I think that I'll go to Pete's place, I've got to find something for him anyway." "Ok, so you leaving now?" "Yeah" Beb comes running in yelling for her "Eb its your mum." Elly runs over to Beb and takes the walkie-talkie and keeps going with Beb hot on her tail. HOSPITAL... Elly and Beb who's carrying Jordan are running down the corridors until they find Mac. "Mum what's going on?" "Ell I don't know cause I'm not family I was kicked out." "Well their not kicking me out I am family." With that Ell ran to Pete's room and went in. she saw Collette sitting over Pete hitting him. Elly ran up to her and pulled Collette off Pete and belted her across the face. Elly got up on the bed and was trying to get her father to wake up cause he had been beaten unconscious. "Dad, Dad, wake up Dad." Mac and Beb are now coming into the room as Jessie is crawling over to her mother. As Mac sees Collette waking and sees Elly sitting on Pete she runs to Pete. "Oh my god, Ell what happened?" Elly was now crying as she looked up at her mother and saw Collette getting up out of the corner of her eye. "WHY?" She yelled at Collette. "Why, because he was going out with me and never mentioned you, that's why." "That's only because he has thought for the last 10 years that I was most likely dead, and yes you WERE going out. So is this what you do every time a guy breaks up with you or just ones that want to try again with his family so I'm not raised getting fought over and knowing both parents not just one like her." Referring to Jessie. Collette got offended and stormed out with Jessie. As Pete started to wake with all the noise and saw Elly, he grabbed her and pulled her down to him and hugged her for what seemed to be hours, but only 5 minutes. Eventually letting go. "Elly what happened?" "Mum called me, and when I got here I came in and saw Collette beating you." "So you got her off me?" Pete interrupted. Elly smiling and nodded a yes. "That's my girl." Pete said looking at Mac who was also smiling. "You sure are your fathers daughter that can be told by the way you do things." Mac stated with a laugh as Pete also grabbed Mac and kissed her. "Hay guys a few of those water guys that came down a while back loved undercover and are willing to join up." Stones eyes lit up. "Yes Stone Tommy is coming." "How do you know about us?" "Well he is my adopted cousin remember, and I got told a lot about you Cam." "So Ell who else is coming?" Ange asked. "Umm... Alex, Mick, Frank, Rachel, and Tommy." But aren't they all their Detectives?" "Yeah Ange they are, and they should be arriving in about 5minutes." Elly then went back into her office. Ange and Stone were happy that Elly got the job to boss them all around after Pete quit the force after his injuries and Mac took the Homicide job, but Danni wasn't she really wanted the job, but it was only fair that Ell got it because even though she was younger then all of them her rank was still higher. She was only 19 and her rank was already Detective Senior Sargent in her own right and when she rejoined the force she got her right title the following year cause her father had quit. ELLY'S OFFICE... Elly doing paper work when her phone rings. "Ellen" "Mackenzie! Turn around." Elly turns around to the window when sees a slug climbing through the window. She screams and jumps her desk. Stone comes in with the gun that Pete had given him. He remembers the slug and fires twice. "What's your name?" it demanded. "E...El...Elly" "Elly who?" it snapped. "Elly Marie" Pete and Mac are both entering the factory and Pete with his gun goes past the water police who also just arrived and took Stones place at the door. Elly saw him and he nodded. "Elly Marie Mackenzie Church." "Let her go slug." Pete demanded. "Ah Mr Church." It went for Pete as he shot it and it fell to the ground as a hysterical Elly runs to her father. "Daddy" Elly says through sobs as he walks her to her mother. "Elly" Mac says arms open. GARAGE... DESK AREA... Elly calming down looks at Mac "mum why did that know and want you and dad?" Mac looked at Pete and Pete answered "hay Ell we put that slug away years ago I think it was when your mum was about..." Mac cut him off. "Before you were born." Mac eyed Pete. MAC'S HOUSE... Once they got to Mac's place Elly goes to inspect the up stairs. While she does so Mac and Pete are left down in the kitchen and Elly finds her mother's room and goes in closing the door behind her. She goes through a few things and finds photo's of the three of them and how happy they look. A while latter Mac goes looking for her daughter and finally finds her in Mac's room, clutching something. "Ell you awake? Dinners ready" no answer so Mac goes over to see what she's holding. As Pete comes to the door Mac sits on her bed and takes the photo, looks at it then at her daughter. "You were so happy sweetie." Mac said kissing Elly's forehead when she sees Pete. Mac walks over to Pete and shows him the photo. "We were all happy." Pete states. LATER THAT NIGHT... Pete and Mac in the spare room, sleeping together,. Pete with his arms wrapped tightly and protectively around Mac when they here a scream. They wake, get their guns, safety off and go down the hall to Elly. Pete opens the door and turns the lights on, to see Elly sitting stiffly upright in bed, eyes fixed on the opposite wall. Mac puts her gun down and runs to her daughter while Pete waits for something to jump out. "Sweetie what's wrong?" Mac said grabbing her daughter's attention by hugging her. "Mum" Elly said sobbing. As Mick came out from behind the door and went for Mac and Elly. Pete still at the door. "Stop" Pete, yelled gun pointed at Mick's head. With this catching Mac's attention. "What do you want?" she said fury burning through. "You know if we shoot you nothing can be done cause your not meant to be anywhere near us at any time." Pete getting sick n tired of Mick taking away Elly and stuffing their lives up so he shoots Mick and goes over to Elly and Mac. ""That's it he won't bother us or you ever again ok." Pete said. Elly nodded and fell asleep with Mac and Pete still in the room lying next to her awake. Mac turned behind her "what are we going to do?" Mac was getting upset. "Nothing will happen, were all safe now." Mac was feeling a little better the Pete was there and she fell asleep in his arms. NEXT MORNING... They all wake to a knock at the door, which Elly went to get while Mac and Pete, had quick showers. Elly opened the door to face Ange, Stone, Danni, Alex, Frank, Tommy, Rachel, and Mick. "Hay guys why are you here?" Elly said opening the door further for them. As they were sitting in the lounge and Elly getting some breakfast Mac and Pete came down and signed Elly to have a shower. Once Elly had come back "so what are you guys doing here?" Pete asked looking at Ange. "Well we kinda tapped the house and found out that Mick was here so we..." Ange was cut off "Wait you bugged my house!" Mac said. "Yeah and we were wondering if you guys were alright." Stone said. "You bugged my house." Mac hugged her daughter as Elly burst into tears. THREE MONTHS LATER... ELLY'S OFFICE... Elly having trouble with Danni called Mac and she came in and headed straight for Ell's office. "Your yelling, fashion, and thank god brains, looks, and everything that is why you have this job." "Oh really came a voice." Mac turned around not seeing anyone as Elly started laughing "Come out! You should see her face." Elly said as Danni entered her office and sat next to Mac and Pete came out of a secret door in the office. Pete noticed that Mac, Elly and Danni wanted to talk so he left shutting the door behind him, but staying at the door. As Mac and Elly both noticed this they started yelling at each other then Elly got a paper weight and through it at the door which made Pete jump and open the door to a laughing Mac and Elly. "Ok now will you go and not try to listen to our discussion, dad?" Elly beamed through her laughing fit "sure, call me once its over I have to talk to you guys anyway." Pete stopped and realised what he said as Mac and Elly stopped laughing and looked at him. "I was going to tell you at home but I'll do it once you're finished with Danni." Pete said quickly and shutting the door. Mac focused back on Danni. "Danni I know you think that you deserve this job... " Mac getting cut off "No Mac I don't think I know." "Dan let me finish. Mac said strongly. "You may think that you deserve this job but it comes down to who's been working here longest." Mac looked at Elly who was starting to cry with the memories of her past. "Excuse me for a minute." And Elly ran out the door as Mac kept explaining. GARAGE... OVERNIGHT ROOM... Ange saw Elly running out of her office upset and went up to her. "Ell what's wrong?" "Nothing Ange" "Ell I've known you for like 19 years don't play tough! What's wrong?" Ange demanded as Stone and Pete entered after only seeing Ange go in. "well, just reliving the past..." "She's reliving the past as Mac is telling Danni that there is no way in hell that she is going to get Ell's job until something happens to Ell." Ange said. As Mac and Danni come in. Mac sees Elly is still upset and goes to her "sweetie what's wrong?" Mac asked softly and soothingly. "Nothing mum" was the reply through sniffles. "Elly I'm sorry about the way that I've been treating you, I guess that I never thought that you have been here longer then me and by the sounds of things I'm glad that Mac was boss when I came." With this coming from Danni, Elly let a smile creep across her face as the apology finished. "That's ok Danni, and Rocca wasn't that bad, I think because I was so small and that he loved children so I got off lightly." Was the response. "I better go Ell, I'll see you at home." Mac said before turning to Pete "we'll talk about what you wanted to tonight." Pete nodded and kissed her as she left. MAC AND PETE'S PLACE... As Mac arrives home she sees the doors open and the lights are all off, so she calls the house as know one answers she calls Ange who comes over straight away with Stone. "Mac what's going on?" Ange whispered. "Don't know Ange, but Pete and Ell should both be home." As the three of them went in guns drawn Mac turns on the light to the lounge and sees Pete tied up. Mac goes to run to him but is stopped by Ange. "Mac no look" pointing to the floor "it's a trap." Mac looks down then at Pete. Mac runs out the front door and around the back. Mac sees Ingrid dragging Elly. "Freeze" Mac, yells gun drawn. As Ingrid turns around holding Elly she sees Mac. "Shit Mac what are you doing here?" at this point Elly has seen Mac and is struggling to get away. She finally slips through Ingrid's grip and runs to Mac. Mac still pointing the gun opens her free arm and grabs Elly who now is crying. "Why did you come here? Why did you tie up Pete?" Mac demanded. "Well I came here to get her" pointing at Elly. "And Pete got in the way." "Why do you want Elly?" "I don't Mac, someone else does." "Who and why?" "Can't say who but I think you'll get it. She made time in undercover hell when she was a child." Mac looked deeper into Ingrid's eyes "right your going in there disconnecting what you've done and if your lucky I might let you go." Ingrid disconnects it and Elly runs to Pete as Mac takes Ingrid out the back. Mac then goes back into her house and finally tells Elly, Pete, Ange, and Stone that she's pregnant. "Oh Mac that's great" Stone says "how far" Pete questions. "El you have an older brother that lives in Sydney with my parents." Mac said looking down getting upset. "what!?" was the response from all but Pete who was comforting Mac, already knowing. "He's coming down tomorrow," Pete said. "Sorry for asking but is he?" Ange asked. Pete and Mac looking at each other as Pete said "no" but didn't really go into much detail with Ange and Stone around. LATER THAT NIGHT... Elly with a bit of an idea on who Peter was. "So if dad's not his dad, doesn't that make us half brother and sister?" Elly asked to her upset mother. "Well Ell if you want to call him your brother or your half brother or even Peter that's up to both of you and what you decide to call each other." Was Mac's upset answer. Elly felt bad and hugged her mother letting her know that she was there and they could talk. As Pete came down the stairs. FOLLOWING DAY... MELBOURNE AIRPORT... As everyone is walking out/off the plane Elly had made a sign that she was holding, that said "WELCOME PETER" As Peter saw this he walked over to Elly and put a photo next to her face looking at the photo then at Elly. HEADQUARTERS... GORDON'S OFFICE... Elly and Mac sitting opposite Commissioner Gordon watching him carefully. "Well as you both know that Mick is dead and Ingrid's also so that's two out of three people that want your family destroyed." "Elly your involved cause both your parents put him away and he's out after them and he won't care if you know or not if you get in the way he'll kill you also." Ell turned to Mac "Mum what about Peter?" Elly stated sadly. "And he or she?" she whispered to Mac "Well I'm not risking it Peter and you are both coming with us." Elly had no idea who it was and started fighting her way out of his grip. When she got lose she turned around and belted him and as Mac and the Commissioner came running over guns drawn Elly was standing over him gun also drawn. As she was about to shot she saw that it was Peter. "Shit, what the hell are you doing here?" She said helping him up as church ran into the car park and saw Mac gun up. "Mac, have you seen him?" Mac turned "what?" "Pete have you seen him?" "No, you took him home!" church now next to Mac "No! After you left he ran off." Elly coming around the car "yeah I know he scared the shit out of me as he grabbed me." Elly stated walking behind him. "Peter what are you doing here?" Elly said starting to cry. "Ell you may not know him beautiful but by now he has realised that you are around and he'll go after you as well and if you get in the way. I mean between him and my self he'll kill you first." Church said hugging his daughter. "Well I went through it once and it didn't stop Mick did it?" Elly stated "he's going to find us just like Mick tracked me down." Mac walking over to Elly and Church and hugged her daughter as well. "Ell, we know this but we would rather have you three and protect you as much as possible then wait for him and if he does kill me he'll be killing more than one you know that." Elly nodded and turned to Commissioner Gordon "So when do we go and were do we go?" "Well go home with some officers and get some things and stay at a friends place and we'll come for you tomorrow morning." They nodded while Pete was confused. MAC AND CHURCH'S PLACE... Mac was explaining what was going on to Pete while Church and Elly were packing as Harris climbed through Elly's window. Elly turned around and saw him she ran up and hugged him and yelled "uncle Luke" As Mac who was down stairs heard this she ran up to Elly's room gun ready and loaded and Church was at her door. They both went in guns up. "Move away Luke." Church said. "Elly come here please." Mac said slowly walking to her. As Pete came up also. "Elly go down stairs and take Pete to Angie's ok." "Just go" Elly turned around and went to the door where Pete was and heard Church say "Its over Harris" Elly turned around and grabbed her gun "WHAT?!" she said walking back into the room gun drawn. "You lied to me, I hate you." Elly said as tears stung her eyes and shot him in the arm. "Alright go sis." Pete said from the door. Elly walked over to him. "Eb I'm sorry." "No. I showed you that letter so you could help ME, not so you could find them your self and kill them." Elly stopped to compose herself as Mac and Church looked at each other in confusion. "Eb you have to understand I thought that you wanted them dead, that's all." "Yeah, well how did you find me? And why were we only told that you got out today when you've been with me in Syd for the last year and a half or even the last two years?" "Cause Melbourne's slow, I don't know." With all their backs turned Elly not letting go of her gun hugging Church, as Luke went for his gun but Elly turned around before he shot Mac. "You lying bastard" Elly screamed as she shot him repeatedly. Mac turned at the drop of two guns. As she saw Luke fall back and Elly drop in front of Church she ran over to them as Church rolled her over to see the shot. "Daddy help please." Elly said tears rolling down her face. Church looked at Mac then turned to Pete. "Don't just stand there call and ambulance." Church yelled, turning back to his daughter. Picking her up and taking her down stairs he put Elly on the lounge and went to get some towels to stop the bleeding leaving Mac there. "Ell come on sweetie don't leave me again, come on hang on you can do it." Mac crying uncontrollably as Pete walks over to his mother as Church comes down the stairs he sees Mac. "Shit, here, you done first aid?" Church said looking at Pete. Who didn't answer "put these over the wound and put as much pressure as you can on it." As Church finished the Commissioner came running in with the paramedics as Church worked on getting Mac out of shock Elly was taken to hospital and taken straight up to surgery. HOSPITAL... Mac still in shock but not as much she was slowly getting back to normal as a doctor came up to them and Church and Mac stood. "Ellen she has more damage then we thought." Mac started crying as Church held her tightly. "Can we see her?" he asked. The doctor nodded as the four of them walked to her room. "I'm sorry to say that with the shock of everything she has gone into a coma." He said looking at Mac. "Thankyou." Church said as he saw Ange and everyone. "Mac how is she?" Ange asked trying to fight back tears. "We're just about to go in you want to join?" Church asked. Ange nodded crying. ELLY'S ROOM... When Mac saw her daughter she collapsed on the floor hitting the side of the bed knocking herself out. Pete ran out of the room for help, he got to the nurses' station. "Help, help, anyone help." Collette came around into view "hay what's wrong?" "Help my mum just got knocked unconscious." He said running back into the room, Collette close behind. "Oh shit" she said running over to Mac "Ellen, Ellen, come on wake up" she said shaking Mac gently. Elly hearing that her mother wasn't waking and her development started to deteriorate rapidly as did Mac's. Mac was put in the same room as Elly and when ever Pete and church were there and Mac started to get better so did Elly. "Mac come on if you stay so will she, come on Mac think about the child! They took and ultra sound and were having another girl, come on this time you can name her and I won't care if you even call her carrot, come on wake up I don't' want to decide between you both with the option of the chosen one not living anyway." Pete was sitting with Elly as he heard this. "Come on Ell you're my sister and lets just say you inherited all mum's good features." He bent down and whispered to her "come on if you come good so will mum and I can't watch you both die, also I can't/wont be able to handle your dad by myself either." He said with a small laugh. Church turned to Pete then remembered something that Mac had said once and he raced out of the room and got a CD player and got a few CD's that Mac had listened to when she was pregnant with Elly. When he came back he put on blue. Once it was playing he got up on her bed. "Come on Mac if these don't help you nothing will and I don't want to lose you, not now, not after everything." After a few days of not leaving her bed side and the songs playing over and over Pete couldn't handle it and stayed with Ange. Tommy and the others from Sydney came in and took over from Pete but Church wouldn't leave his family. TWO DAYS LATER... Church still with Mac. As he woke he started talking to her. "Mac I know you don't wont her to leave but unless you wake and get better by tomorrow their going to make me chose between you and our baby." Church looked over at Elly then turned back to Mac hand over her stomach. "Mac I love you and you can't leave me I can't look after Pete he's not mine and he's...well...nothing to do with you but I think he takes after his father a total ass hole." While Church said this he was looking at Mac's stomach. "Well don't worrie I love you too and you don't have to look after him by yourself." Church shot around to see Mac awake and looking great. They both turned to Elly hoping that she would also pull through. Mac turned back to Church. "You remembered the songs." "Yeah I should how many times did you play them?" Church says with sarcasm seeping through. "Mac how are you?" Tommy and the others said "not bad Tommy how's Ell?" before an answer was given her monitor started to beep more frequently. Mac looked up at Church who picked her up and took her to Elly's bed. "Hay gorgeous how are you?" Mac said as Elly began to stir and Ange came in. "Mac, Mac your awake." Angie was over the moon and ran up to her and never wanted to let go from her hug not sure if it was a dream or not. They all then turned back to Elly who's monitor stopped. "Mac started getting upset "Ell...Ell...Ellen Marie Mackenzie Church don't go you have to stay you've got a little sister to play with and help. Mac started crying as nurses and doctors came from everywhere so Church put her back in bed. Once the commotion settled realising that her monitor broke, Angie went to her side "Ell come on you can't die on us now, I mean you got rid of Mick twice or so, Ingrid didn't get away and you shot Harris as well, to me that means that you should have more time here and plus you have a little sister, Angie said crying. SIX MONTHS LATER... "Ellen your going to have to decide weather we are to turn off life support or not." The doctor said. "No! Its staying on she can still pull through." Was Mac's saddened answer. As the doctor walked out. "Mum" Pete said "yeah Pete" "Umm...I'm sorry if this sounds mean but CAN WE GO!, we've been here day and night for the last six months." "Yeah what ever." Was her reply. As they were leaving Angie and Tommy came in with the rest of the guys. They all stopped to talk to Mac but Angie who walked up to Elly and sat on her bed. As Mac looked on. "She's taken it rather hard." Mac said to Church. "Elly remember what I said six months ago?" Ange looked at the ground then back to Elly. "Well your sister was born last month and she looks like you." Angie started to cry. As the doctor came in "you want me to turn this off?" he asked. Ange looked at him "Did her mother say yes?" "Yes she did" "ok." The doctor turned off life support as Ange kept talking to her "Ell come on you have to see her, her names Elly Mackenzie Church." She looked away again. "Come on beautiful." Angie said through tears. Elly's hand went up to Angies face but her eyes still closed. "Elly" Angie yelled as she opened her eyes. "Where is she then?" Elly said with a smile. "Oh Ell its good to see you again and finally get a response from you." As Angie lent down to hug her Mac came back and saw that Elly was awake and yelled out to everyone. As she ran in to her daughter. "Hay you." "Mum, Ange got me she said that the way that my lives turned out should mean that I should stick around longer. And that you named Elly after me." As Ell finished Pete came running in and hugged and kissed his sister, as everyone else came in Elly in Church's arms. He lent Elly down on Ell. "Hay beautiful." Ell said before looking up at Church and Mac then to Ange "You know what she does look like me, but lets just hope she didn't inherit what I did from dad hay?" Ell said with a small laugh, before cringing in pain. "Ell you alright?" Mac asked, "yeah mum fine." Ell said before looking down at her sister who just woke up. "Hay you, are you going to love growing up with me, or what hay?" Ell said "No Ell you're not going to make her into your little stooge" Pete said looking at Ell 'You know that's my job." Ell looked at him "narr ah" "is to" "no way, should I tell dad what you said?" Ell said with an evil look "No, no you can have her I'll wait for the next one." Church stepped in "tell me what he said?" he asked questioningly. Before Mac also stepped in with bribery. "Should I tell Peter what you said about him?" Mac said looking into Church's eyes to get him to drop it. "What is it with these Mackenzie women?" Church said walking around to Pete. "There all into making our life hell." Church said looking smugly at Mac who gave him a dirty.
