And thanx to everyone who has sent me feedback for my other fics. It is much appreciated. :) Note: It's rather rushed. Sorry! ************ Feels Like Home ************ ~ Something in your eyes makes me want to lose myself Makes me want to lose myself in your arms..........~ Mac leant back into Pete's embrace as he tightened his hold on her. He wasn't about to let go anytime soon, and she never wanted him too. The day had been long and eventful. A day of discoveries for the both of them. A day of pain, and a day of loss. A case gone wrong, affecting everyone involved. A case that had hurt her, and made him realise what he wanted......what they both wanted.....what they both needed. ~ There's something in your voice makes my heart beat fast Hope this feeling lasts the rest of my life............~ 'Mac, we should talk about it.' Pete spoke gently, not wanting to sound like he was pushing her into anything. 'Pete...I know. But not now. Please not now.' She turned, settling herself further in his arms. 'I like it just like this. I like it having you here, having you close.' 'I'm not going anywhere,' Pete answered, kissing her forehead. 'I promise.' 'It's just.....' 'Mac...I know. I felt the same...' ~ If you knew how lonely my life has been And how long I've felt so alone If you knew how I wanted some-one to come along And change my life the way you've done.......~ 'Pete, is this a good idea?' Mac pulled back from his gentle kisses, and looked at him. 'Is it what you want?' he answered, taking her face in his hands and looking deep into her eyes. She looked scared, confused and vulnerable, and he knew the day's events weighed heavily on her mind. But she'd talk when she was ready. All he wanted was to there for her, and more then anything - he wanted to be with her. He watched her carefully. Her eyes moving slowly around the room, before looking at him again, then moving to focus on something else. Mac nodded slightly. 'I think so...' she added quietly. Pete took her face again, moving slightly to look her in the eye again. 'You think so...' 'Pete, so much has happened in the past 24 hours, that it is difficult to make up my mind about what I want at the moment,' Mac started ' But I know that I want you here. I want you to hold me, I want you to tell me it will be okay, and I want you to listen to me when I'm ready to talk. I couldn't think of anyone else....' Mac trailed off as Pete kissed her tenderly - taking her in his arms, holding her once again. ~ It feels like home to me, It feels like home to me It feels like I'm all the way back where I come from It feels like home to me, It feels like home to me It feels like I all the way back where I belong........~ 'I thought that you weren't coming....I called the signal, but no-one came.' Mac began. Pete took a deep breath. She felt betrayed. She'd trusted us. 'I'm sorry...' Pete started 'It's not your fault.' 'If I had got there sooner I might have....' 'Pete. Don't blame yourself. I don't blame you.' 'Mac, if I had gotten there sooner, he wouldn't have hurt you. Do you even trust us anymore?' Pete looked at her, as she looked away. 'You don't.' 'Pete. I trust you...it's just going to take awhile. I'm scared...' 'Mac. No-one is ever going to hurt you again.' 'You can't promise that.' 'No, but I promise that I'll never hurt you, and that I'll always be here for you when someone does. And even though I cant promise it, I'll try my hardest to make sure you are never hurt again.' Mac looked up at him with tears in her eyes. 'I believe you.' She whispered. ~ A window breaks down a long dark street And a siren wails in the night But I'm alright cause I have you here with me And I can almost see through the dark there's light......~ 'Can you stay?' Mac asked apprehensively. 'I was going to whether you liked it or not.' 'Good,' Mac replied resting again against his torso. Pete's arm holding her there. 'Do you want to go to bed?' Pete asked. 'Will you come with me...?' 'Are you sure?' Mac was silent for a moment. 'Yes.' 'Mac, really. A lot has happened, you may not be ready...' 'Pete. I want this. I need this. I need you....' She trailed off, pulling back from him slightly. Pete nodded, standing and taking her hand, pulling her up after him - walking silently to her room. ~ If you knew how much this moment means to me And how long I've waited for your touch If you knew how happy you were making me I've never thought I'd love anyone so much......~ Mac lay in bed, nestled closely to Pete, his arms wrapped protectively around her. 'Are you okay?' He mumbled, knowing she was awake. 'Yes,' she answered pulling herself closer to him. 'This is right Mac. Today when all that happened, I knew it. I never want to be anywhere without you. When you're with me, I'm complete, and I don't need anything else, except to hold you.' Mac smiled. 'Pete, I know. You don't have to justify it to me. Having you here proves that. It also makes me feel safe - having you around always has. And I wouldn't want to be anywhere else then in your arms.' She turned and kissed him tenderly, Pete returning the kiss, lowering her onto the sheets, before pulling away and holding her tightly. ~ It feels like home to me, It feels like home to me It feels like I'm all the way back where I come from It feels like home to me, It feels like home to me It feels like I'm all the way where I belong. It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong...........~ *Finis*
