| The group arrrived in Slaska with no other problems and docked at the small air dock in the center of town. Unable to contain himself any longer, Tuck informed the group that he thought they were on a wild goose chase, and that the Dwarven prince wanted the amulet to start a war with the S'skra. The group agreed with the eager telepath that there were apparent alterior motives. Carefully the group moved towards the house that Blackforge described. A'tar was familiar with S'skra society, and paid careful attention to the colors of the head fins. Just outside the targetted house, the group met a gardener. He was a commoner, with no color on his fins. The nervous servant refused to talk to the party and ran around the side of the house, the gardener even refused a generous bribe. The party walked up to the door and slowly opened it. The residence appeared abandoned. There was no furniture inside, and the party didn't see anyone. Slowly the group snooped around the dusty bottom floor and continued upstairs. As they ascended, they noticed the flicker of candlelight under one door. The group opened the door and confronted three well-dressed S'skra sitting on different sides of a triangle table. All three had yellow markings on their head fins, signifying royalty. "What do you want with us?" hissed the one female who had her back to the group. Kira noticed that the female was wearing the amulet they were sent to retrieve, and quickly whispered the information to A'tar. "We were sent to get that necklace, but we think someone is making fools of us." A'tar replied confidently. Convinced that the party meant them no harm, the commanding female S'skra introduced herself as a princess to the S'skra nation. She ordered that one of her companions retrieve their other guest. The large male returned with Matrice. Apparently she had been stationed on one of the Empire's scout airships, and was in the hold when they were chasing some hijackers from Middleton. Well the pursuants lit the scout ship on fire, and sent it crashing into an area just west of the S'skra nation. Some S'skra hunters took her back, and the princess's aids nursed her to health. "When you travel back to the empire, take her with you yes?" the aid asked? The party agreed, and again had four members. The largest male S'skra hushed the group and pointed to the window. "There is someone stalking us." the female explained. The group glanced out of the window and caught a glimpse of a small figure hiding in the bushes. A'tar, Kira and Tuck ran downstairs. They slowly walked around the house, and Tuck got enough of a glimpse of the figure to cast bewilder succesfully. A'tar pushed the bushes aside, and found a cloaked goblin chanting about the magical happy fish. The culprit appeared to be their old comrade Garrak. Upset about their friend's apparent deception, A'tar picked him up by the collar and carried him upstairs. "Here's the stalker!" A'tar bellowed as he set the babbling Goblin on the table in front of their hosts. Tuck listened intently as the group of S'skra hissed quietly for a moment, he could understand one phrase, "Are you sure they will go for it?" After a few moments, the princess spoke to the group, "If what you say is true, perhaps we should give your unfaithful companion a fake amulet and send him on his way. Maybe if your employer think he got what they want the will be satisfied." "Works for me." bellowed A'tar, he promptly took the phony from the princess, placed it in the goblin's cloak, and dropped kicked the little green fiend out of the window. Everyone watched in shock as the assasssin hit the ground, and heard an echoing crack. Realizing that their plan would not work if the scapegoat was dead, the group (now accompanied by Matrice) rushed downstairs to make sure the goblin survived. The goblin was alive, but unconcious and had a severe fracture in his left femur. The hauled the injured assassin back upstairs and began tending to his wound. Suddenly the goblin awoke and started screaming. "Leave me alone! I don't know you!" The group suddenly realised that though the Goblin looked like their companion they heard a female voice. While the group unsuccessfully questioned the Goblin, Tuck was eavesdropping on the three S'skra having their own conversation. "They fell for our plan perfectly. Now they will take all the blame and we will still get what we want." The nervous mage whispered to A'tar what he had just heard. A'tar slowly steooed back and looked at the three S'skra, who were about to leave the room. Qucikly he drew his sword and growled. "Where do you think you are going?" He stared at one of the S'skra guards and |
